What do you do when we lose a match?

I am on my way to eat a crunchy Chili chicken burger.

Get jealous of well run big clubs and then wait for next season to start in the forlorn hope things will improve. Roll on next season

Popeyes new spicy chicken sandwich is dead good.

feck ed and the Glazers

I drive my vehicle to an old, abandoned warehouse, stick a tape in the tape deck, rake a cigarette, swig a beer and dance my anger away with surprising poise and vigour.

Wait, that’s Kevin Bacon. I dunno, I just look to see when the next one is!

Turn the telly off, don’t go online or consume any football media until nearly the next game.

Man Utd 0:1 Aston Villa
Honestly, I have learnt to not to care anymore finally. It hurts while watching but afterward I just move on to something else. Frustrating, but I can't invest so much emotion into a game, not good for the health. Plus, hate to get banned insulting people that probably deserve insulting. :nervous:

Years ago it was get into a fight with someone.
Then it was get drunk.
Then it was avoid all football media for days .
Now it’s Meh, give out on Redcafe.
I have grown old.

Takeaway but I kid myself it’s a ‘classy’ one like a Korean or Nandos .

Doesn't really bother me like it used to. Earlier it used to mean a dent in out title challenge. Now, I'm sort of accustomed to our own boom bust cycle, waiting for genuine excellence from a United manager.

Push the button and feck off till the next match. Can't keep doing this to myself.

Avoid all football for the rest of the week. Watch some other sports or read some crap.

I try to convince myself that at 40 I should stop caring about this, I have more important things in my life. But then it ends up ruining my day anyway.

I'm not arsed anymore because i've convinced myself that anything except top 4 isn't happening. The key is to lower your expectations.

I've well and truly lowered mine and I still am disappointed.

1) Write a couple of angry posts.

2) Unhealthy as everyone is angry too, so I go to the gym to blow some steam off on the treadmill

3) Typically doesn't work that well because I wind up watching rivals racking up goals

4) Get back home and look for some mind-numbing passtime game on the phone.

5) Wife bitches I'm not pulling my weight.

6) I tell her I'm finally chilling for once in the entire day.

7) She protests I've done feck all and already had my football earlier.

8) I explain watching United is far from a relaxing experience.

9) I'm questioned as to why do I even bother then.

10) I end up holding a feeding bottle and putting it all in perspective.

Rinse repeat every week.

Writing this with fed baby sleeping on my chest.

Stay away from this place.

(Which I didn't do today).

Also: get drunk.

(Which I'm about to get).

We've been losing so often for years now that I can't even get angry any more. I've become desensitised to it. I remember when defeats used to make me furious.

Would like to know what others do.
Depending on how important that match is, and who it is against it can vary...

Some of the things I do:
1. I usually try to block it out by watching a series or a movie.
2. Sometimes I mope around and ask the wife to make me feel better
3. Diving into a game or something (COD or whatever)
4. Avoid certain threads in the Manchester United forum
5. Try not to listen to the pundits post match thoughts, and from the manager and players cause almost always nothing they say makes me feel better. (Sometimes I do though)

At times I wish I was an alcoholic for those moments

What do you do?

EDIT: I put in our thread because I specifically want to know what our fans do, but don't mind hearing what other fans do so if a mod wants to move it, they can.
Stay away from the United forum for a few days, it's just too toxic.

I get on here to bash Ole

Basically the same thing as when we win a match, except then with more vitriol due to the added disappointment of winning
