What do we need before the transfer window shut and what are your expectations?

Casemiro needed cover last season; if we close out this window having not addressed that it is gross negligence and real dereliction of duty to both the player and the club’s ambitions this season. Injury and/or fatigue to Casemiro and we’re cooked. We shouldn’t have such a single point failure by the end of an entire summer transfer window.

We also need a proper ball-using midfielder who can retain the ball under pressure as well as distribute it handily when the opportunity is there to do so.

People thought I was crazy for saying someone similar to Caicedo should have been our priority over a Mount style attacking mid. We genuinely have 0 DM cover and decided to hold on to McTominay (who doesn't provide said cover) when the obvious decision was moving for Lavia right after selling McTominay and getting Macallister who provides a better fit as a true 8 than Mount does.

Instead we are now in danger of not even getting Amrabat and might end up now a midfielder (or 2) short as well as needing another attacker (seeing as the Greenwood decision was reversed).

It’s been a horrible window. Thought we were on for at least 5 in and 5-8 out, with a £100m difference between the two.

The current situation is a horror show. Onana is great. I think Hojland will be too. Mount is a solid signing. But, once again, we’ve paid £15m too much for the latter two. This while not really recouping anything like enough from sales, and not moving out enough players.

I’d want at least another midfielder and an experienced #9 as cover. Happy to white knuckle it with Onana. He looks sturdy and should play 90% of matches.

Need to shift McT, Maguire and probably Sancho - as much as I rate him.

We are absolutely fecked if we don’t replace Fred and McT (assuming he goes).

Maguire, Henderson and Scooby Do out. Amrabat, Pavard, backup keeper and a legit perminant striker -- to replace the 4-5 we've lost and the one who can't stay healthy --in.

I thought the window was going pretty smoothly for a change, actually surprised we changed goalkeeper which was a needed, a bold move considering how long he was here and the fact our club like to take their time on these things.

I’m excited by the young lad upfront, we just need to be patient on that one.

Mount is the one I’m scratching my head at, feels like it wasn’t a priority, and now we are relying on outgoings to be able to address other needs .

I’m of the opinion nothing will really work or change until the ownership does.

We need a quality DM, we need another striker and a better CB than Maguire. None of it will happen though and we are going to struggle a lot.

We will sign a GK who will never play though.

Ideally we would have signed a midfielder who could not only play as an alternative to Casemiro but could have usurped him from the starting line up, the same way Fergie kept it going with signing Ince to play alongside Robson and then signing Keane to play alongside Ince. Instead we'll be rummaging around deadline day for some Sabitzer loan type again.

I’m holding off because we cannot be that incompetent… can we? What’s worse is watching Casemiro fade before our eyes is entirely predictable and instead of catering to his game, we’re increasing his load three-fold… without cover.

What could possibly go wrong?

I’m hoping seeing as looks like there is going to be a clear out on some of younger players like Emeram, Jurado etc we might invest in some young talent like Nypan or someone from South America like Barco. That doesn’t seem to be in club’s radar though.

There’s going to be a lot of people leaving on loan but selling anyone for a decent fee is looking less and less likely now. Which consequently means no major signings, maybe another striker as a Sabitzer type signing where we just go round asking who teams will let go right near deadline.

Knowing how shit we are at most things, if we can just get one decent CM in, that'll be huge.

Forget the backup GK just use the reserves keeper, sell Hendo, sell Donny, and then hope that we're still in the Top 6 come Jan, and get a striker.

Even a 25 year old Case would have a tough go of it with the current setup, as at Madrid he had Kroos and Modric who both were more reserved in midfield and helped defensively.

Prime Kante might be the only DM that could play in this current setup with how Bruno and Mount are approaching it

I quite honestly don't understand why they let Fred walk for all the great windfall of 8M with hardly any cover in that position after having bought another #10.
I think they expected to also sell McTominay, in which case we would have been able to replace them with a better player. It's all gone wrong pretty quickly.

We definitely 100% need - at minimum another midfielder.

We could do with - Selling Maguire and buying a replacement CB / Selling Hendo and getting a back-up GK

If I'm being really optimistic - We'd get a wily/veteran striker in to give us a bit more firepower up top, sell McT for a decent fee and get another midfielder in to replace.

What I think will happen - nothing.

Yeah and Casemiro’s forte has always been reading play and timing his interjections in said play, not bombing round like a lunatic expending energy left, right and centre. What this new system is also likely to ensure is a massive uptake in cards if we keep leaving him isolated and exposed because we already know Casemiro will take one for the team and let others off the hook for their mistakes, so it stands to reason that the cumulative effect will be more suspensions via yellows, which is something we currently have absolutely no contingency for.

You don’t need to be an actuary to see the potentially vast pitfalls that await us if we don’t improve the composition of the squad before the window shuts. It cannot remain as it is unless there is a heavy reliance on our reserves stepping in to fill the shoes of our first team, and if that is the plan, and it goes belly up, it will be an unmitigated disaster from the ground up.

Last season was the first season in a long time that I would be upset if we did not win or play well. Prior seasons, I just didn't gaf if we lost or were thrashed. It was expected. I'm starting to not give any fecks again and setting myself up for less disappointment. It's a win win situation really because if we do really well, I will feel great. If we don't do well, I have already checked out.

The absolute best thing that can happen this season, even more than winning the league is that the club is sold.

Casemiro is a class act, a thoroughbred, but we're using him like a donkey expecting him to run all over the field. He needs somebody in there with him, younger and able to go from end to end like Keanne in his pomp. And we should break the bank for a top class, reliable striker and allow Rashford to play in his preferred position on the left. I read today that ETH says Martial is close to being fully fit, and that really worries me because Martial is not the answer to our striker problem and never was; I really cant see why he hasnt been sold along with the other prima donnas and posers ETH got shot of.

If we lose/draw to Forest I think either Gravenbirch or Amrabat will come in. If we win then no one. Losing to Arsenal will be an already acceptance I reckon. We will have to hope Hojlund turns into an Haaland clone for goalscoring

What we need: Open heart surgery on the entire club

What we get: Release of an exclusicve retro-inspired 4th kit pretending that it has some connection to Manchester's history

A CB, a CM and a #9 but what ever we get it will probably turn out a failure. We’re horrible with transfers and Ten Hag doesn’t seem to get good support to pick the right players.

This season we cannot accomplish anything. If we do, it will really be ETH's magic that does it. Except Martinez, Bruno, Onana we really do not have any decent assets at the club. Hojlund would really need a great season and it's not fair on him when players like Rashford and Casemiro can just stroll around and he is expected to resurrect the club's season.

Nothing we do in the market is going to help. We are done.

We need cover in key positions, CB, DM, FW

Unfortunately squad depth as well as squad quality is a little bit short. We missed out on achievable targets like Ugarte who joined PSG or Harry Kane.

For me another 3 players are needed still, someone like Milenkovic from Fiorentina, Zaire-Emery from PSG and Osimhen to go with Hojlund!

I’m not expecting any major signings.

The club needs a complete overhaul, new owners or not the entire structure of the club needs to be gutted and rebuilt from scratch including getting rid of everyone involved in the transfers. Also get a god damn director of football who will actually have the ability to veto signing Someone like Antony.

Nobody would've thought Leicester were going to be in a relegation battle at the start of last season. If you keep making bad decisions and you have some key players out of form/injured, in this league now, anything is possible.

I think the critical thing is getting a Casemiro back up / partner. Anything else is dependent on sales. Replacements would be needed if we sell Maguire, Henderson or both McTominay & VDB.

I'm predicting:

In: Back up GK, emergency LB (loan)

Out: Henderson, DVB

What we need: Backup #6. Starting #8. Experienced #9 to help Hojlund.

What we'll get: Backup GK.

If Casemiro continues to be bad and/or gets injured, we're fecked. #9 might be okay if Hojlund does well. #8 might be okay if Mount learns to play it. The club might panic buy someone if the performance is poor again vs Forest.
