They've had 17 years to appease the fans and they've been shit all that time. They were not welcome here in the first place. Is this thread some kind of wind up?

Just sell up and go away. Some of the worst scumbags, completely detestable people.

Pay the debt off with their own cash/assets.
(To be honest, I don't even know how the debt ended up being the club's and not their own personal debt in the first place)

There's only two answers to this:

a) Stop taking dividends, invest in all areas of the club that is lacking & stop hiring yes-men who are supremely unqualified for their positions.
b) Sell up

Only one is even remotely realistic at this point.

You just know the Glaziers, Murtough et al are hard at work figuring out how to calm the masses. What will it take for you? What about Casimiro and De Jong? Casimiro and De Jong and Antony and Ronaldo saying? Casimiro and De Jong and Antony and Ronaldo saying and we come fourth? Or will you never be pacified no matter what?
only way to appease us is to leave united..

Sell the club and get rid of that revolting haircut. But I will settle for selling the club.

Sell to someone who cares about the club then feck off.

Sell 40% share for $2 Billion
$500 million to pay off team debt
$1 Billion for new stadium and grounds
$500 million kitty for signings and tranfers.

Pay off the debt, pay back the dividends, sell the club, feck off and never set foot in the UK again.

@UpWithRivers sell the club. Short of that, graciously grant 51% ownership to the fans and then use half of the money they took out of the club to rebuild the South Stand. And that's being generous, I thought maybe they should give back every penny but a sweetener to help the divorce.
They don't give a shit about Manchester or Manchester United. They've made their money, it's time for them to accept that they're not the people to take this historical club forward and GO.

The Glazers cannot do anything to appease the fans...they're way past the point of no return from that perspective. They've taken one of the most prominent and successful clubs in football, invested very little of their own money, and brought its to it knees from a sporting standpoint out of sheer and unshakable incompetency (all while endangering its financial health by putting it in huge amounts of debt). Even under improved ownership, it could take United years to recover. Along those lines, they can give the fans a parting gift by selling to an owner (or a group of owners) who...
  • Can make good and proactive footballing decisions, or will elevate/appoint crème de la crème specialists to do it for them.
  • Will undertake the much-needed modernization Old Trafford, Trafford Training Centre, and the infrastructure surrounding the club.
  • Maybe interact with the fans and address their concerns once in a while; instead of always keeping them in the dark and treating them with contempt.
  • Won't take big chunks of money out of club on a worryingly regular basis (and especially not when it's struggling).
That's mostly it. Take the winnings from a full-scale buyout, and never come back.

Rewind time and spend big on major targets we missed out on between 2005 and 2013. That was when all the damage that we are suffering now was done. Our penny pinching (caused by the LBO) opened the door for rivals to catch and overtake us. They've tried to course correct by spending the 3rd most in Europe since Fergie retired but as they can see, its not that easy to recover when the damage is done.

They can also dip hands in their pockets and provide extra funding for transfers at this time when the club needs that money to rebuild. Many clubs are funded with owner money in time of need. They can do the same.

But the best thing for them to do is to sell to an owner that can get the club back to the top of world football.

Assuming this question is "what do they have to do for them to be ok owners"...

Start investing a ton of money for the team to succeed. Revamp the training facilities, full repair and renovation of the stadium, hire best in class personnel in a better footballing structure and take a complete hands off approach. Never approving signings. Never rejecting who can't leave. Just provide a good budget every year, and feck off entirely and leave it to somebody else who knows what they're doing without ever meddling again.

On the contrary, they are looking to involve an even more despicable private equity firm into the club. I'm starting to feel they actively despise the club for some reason. I wouldn't put it past them to look for a particularly awful person to sell to or to specifically not sell to someone like Radcliffe. Just out of spite.

Sell. But not to Apollo or some other landlords that essentially would be the same.

Drop Shaw Maguire and Rashford.

They've simply done too much damage.

They could bring The Busby Babes and George Best back to life and it still wouldn't be enough as far as I am concerned.

The disregard and disrespect they've shown to the fans and nearly 150 years of history is beyond comprehension.

I don't wish any ill will on to them, just like 99% on here have said, take the money and f*ck off.

Having a pint with us fans again Richard ?

They may be interested in PR and fan appeasement, but they aren't interested in what's best for the football club. Their ownership is in conflict with the best interests of the football club.

What would pacify me...United's revenues staying in the club, not paying off the Glazer's debts or into their pockets by virtue of dividends, and those funds being managed by people who the club hire due to their competence and expertise in doing so.

There's no appeasing now.

They've cost us too much and done too much damage.

Just go.Too late for this. There was an window of opportunity last year when Joel Glazer came down and spoke with the fans. All that good will have now evaporated. The fans won't be fooled twice.

They can feck off, and take Arnold, Murtough and Woody with them

Sack Murtough and sell to Ratcliffe
