Music What are we listening to?

I think they stole the riff from the damned but its different anyway so who cares.

They get a lot of shit for their turn to a more pop sounding style but I love it anyway.

Since I'm in the hype for the upcoming release of Top Gun: Maverick for in a few weeks, I just cannot stop listening to Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand" right now.

It's really a love letter to the world during and after a very hard time.

CARNAGE by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
The majority of these songs would fit seamlessly into a David Lynch film. The Carnage track alone would suit Lost Highway perfectly.

I'd not heard her version before but its not my cup of tea. Amazing songwriter obviously, but there's something raw and heartbreaking about Amy's version that gets me every time.
Yeah that's fair. Amy brings a lot more raw emotion, whereas Carole King's is a bit more reserved.

I think with songs & covers where there are a few well-known versions, the one we hear first is often the one we like the most. I can hardly think of a song where the second version of it I heard is my favourite.

Now I am obsessed with this song too. Interesting video to decipher.

I love talk-singing, must check out their new album.

Cheers!

The album is great. I’d say the other standout is The Place Where He Inserted The Blade.

You just cannot listen to 'Paul Simon - Diamonds on the soles of her shoes' without a smile on your face..

Nick Cave and Warren Elis.
White Elephant.

A protester kneels on the neck of a statue

The statue says I can’t breathe

The protester says now you know how it feels

And kicks it into the sea
