Music What are we listening to?

I'm working on checking out this album. I love Pienso en tu mirá.

There's a massive national hype with her but I think it's the best "flamenco" album in years.Pienso en tu mirá is very good, but my favorite so far is di mi nombre

years ago I was in love with this song. What groups would you recommend?

That song is like an anthem lol

vamos independiente que tenes que ganaar, la banda esta loca hoy quiere festejaaar :drool:

La Delio Valdez is a modern group. Their last album which is called Sonido Subtropical came out this year like in june or so, but they also do old classics which are awesome like theat one (Cumbia sobre el mar). They do Colombian style cumbia which is the one I like the most. They have a great band and their sound is great, with cool arrangements.

This song is one of the biggest classics in cumbia

There's also cumbia villera which comes originally as a manifestation from the poorest classes after the 2000's crysis in argentina. Damas Gratis is the most known group out of this subgenre. It's the favorite band of many players such as Sergio Aguero, Otamendi and all these feckers

I like that song but don't like cumbia villera that much

They are well known all over south america. Here they're playing in Chile.

Their music makes me happy just because it takes me to my childhood (as to many argentinians of the working class) playing football in the streets or in the potreros with this kind of music in the background

hehe I was about to ask you about la cumbia villera. Before Jambao I wouldn´t have recognized Argentina for that kind of music. Actually I know the song because it was the big hit in Spain dressing room during the World Cup in SouthAfrica.
I will have a look to both groups and let you know. Thanks

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

Anybody remember this minimalist piece of art? So little yet so much going on at the same time. Fallen in love with this 'song' all over again.

Great song. I can't remember when I heard it for the first time (probably within the last ten years), but I vividly remember my disbelief when I learned it had been a hit!

That was pretty cool! Definitely agree with with Deftones vibe!

Yeah they're pretty good. Discovered them a while back. Not as good as Deftones, of course! But i do quite like them. Another good song here.

I won't bombard you with any more! You can listen at your own leisure if you're interested

Was looking on youtube yesterday for something new and came across IDLES.
How the hell have i missed this band. 1st album Brutalism is a fantastic piece of work and Joy as an act of Resistance is just as good.
