Either Mediolanum or Opel, I think — both coincided with periods of incredible success (4 European Cups + 5 Scudetti in total) and glamour (presence of superstars like Maldini, Gullit, van Basten, Shevchenko, Baresi, Kaká). The Bwin period started on a positive note, but was tarnished by the Calciopoli scandal and diminishing returns on the pitch.

If you got offered a a bit more money to have something contentious it would piss fans off. Would you be happy with "The Weinstein Company" across your chest?

It wouldn't even need to be that bad. "Wetherspoons" or "Sports Direct" would make loads of UK fans mad.

Wasn't this an issue a few years when Newcastle was sponsored by some kind of money lender? I seem to remember Papiss Cisse being upset about it.
