Were Liverpool ever this bad?

People can try and delude themselves all they like but there has never been such a gap between the two clubs as there is now , this is not even a rivalry anymore.

Never has one club completely dominated over the other so much in games as what we have right now.

You just know they would've been going for knees if they were ever in this position

This season’s head-to-heads give you the answer, OP.

I recall nothing of the sort in my years following the club.

I don't think Liverpool have been as bad as this. A lot of posters saying we have forgotten how bad Liverpool were, I say they don't realise how bad we are now. They are blinded by loyalty I presume, commendable in a way, but still wrong.

2014/15 they were pretty bad.

Lost 6-1 to Stoke final game. Botched transfer policy which meant they signed a comical combination of Lazar Markovic, Borini, Rickie Lambert and Balotelli to replace Suarez.

Think they finished 7th in the league.

Don't think I have seen an aggregate score of 9-0 in the premier league for us against the scousers in the last 25 years, even when the scousers were at their worst.

They were this bad overall .

But one thing for sure is they never rolled over against us and always put up a fight. It's what makes our showings against them even more pathetic and hurtful.

Back in the Fergie days, no matter how bad some of this Liverpool teams were they would always be up for a game against United.

Player for player the gulf in class is smaller now but our players are just utterly spineless. If our players closed Liverpool down, put their bodies on the line and were aggressive to try and win the ball but were just outplayed I can live with that. The fact that the players didn't really seem bothered to get embarrassed is what really hurts.

Previous Liverpool teams can do well against top teams, their problem was failing to beat the lower ranked teams regularly.

That Leicester team was really good. They had really good balance with Vardy, Mahrez and Kante. Yes they fell off since, but they did lose their most important player in Kante. Turns out really good defensive midfielders can make a team.
I agree, but you also need players who will give 110% every game and Leicester did that.

In the 70s and 80s we always gave Liverpool a game and beat them quite a few times. In the Fergie premier era it was the other way around. This season is the worst i can remember for one of the clubs to be that far ahead of the other on the pitch

No.

Even the "Spice Boys" era had their moments. What we would give for players like McManaman and Fowler. The others may not have been worldbeaters, but at least they gave everything

Our "best player" fakes an injury because the opposition are running too much.

Such snappy dressers, too.

They were utter shite at times but they always showed up against us. Other than the 4-0 game when Hyppia got sent off after 5 minutes we never once hammered them in all that time. (Even the mad Mascherano game ended 3-0 after we eventually got the second goal).

Our current team doesnt show up against anyone unless its Leeds bizarrely and thats probably more because of Leeds insane style of play under Bielsa.
