yeah right! They'll turn on SAF for playing him in the first place
Plus, as a billy bonus, Ole is more likely to start, AND that should mean more than 2 minutes a game for Forlan.

Good point! Maybe what we need to settle the front a bit...4-4-2

Rams you bastard, you've got me thinking of that now. My whole day has just been ruined

Agreed. People seem to overlook Chadwick and Fortune.

Fortune is out for 6 weeks with an achilles injury, and Chadwick is a couple of reserve games short of match fitness.

Not worried.
He and Keane need time to chill out, gets their heads sorted and return refreshed.
Butt and Seba will jump at the chance of a prolonged spell together.

I think it's a blessing in disguise

Midfield is the strongest part of United's squad but just three weeks into the season it's being stretched to the limit. Just as well the injuries are to midfielders and not to strikers, eh?

Even if those who called for Veron to be sold are proven wrong, saying they should hang their heads in shame is utter bollox unless of course they are all folk who have reliable premonitions, which I don't think they are.

I'm only referring to the fact that United need strength in depth. Surely selling Veron would have been wrong. Injuries happen and United need to be covered for them occuring. That's why there could be a problem in attack if something happens to Van nistelrooy or Solskjaer. You don't need to have premonitions to know that players will get injured.

But were those supporters calling for Veron to be sold calling for no signing in order to replace him?

Certainly not a midfield signing. What would have been the point in weakening one area of the team to strengthen another?
Originally posted by Dans:
Eh? I'm taking issue with you suggesting that people who thought Veron should be sold should currently be hanging their heads in shame because of a midfield injury crisis. I'm saying that what you are saying is ludicrous frankly.

Not sure how it's ludicrous.
All I'm saying is that people who wanted him to be sold are now relying on him. Had United sold Veron and Scholes and Keane been out for a few months each then I strongly suggest these same people would be criticising United for selling him. That's all.

Where on earth do you come up with that strong suggestion from???

Some, but not all. Bloody hell, I wasn't too keen on Veron after last season's showing and he hasn't done a great deal to convince me he's been worth it so far this season. I might have advocated selling him in June and conceivably I would have called for a striker or a defender (we needed both and after all, prior to Veron we had the same cast in the midfield). And you're saying that in those circumstances I should now be "hanging my head in shame"?
