Television Welcome to Wrexham (Hulu)

They've made this documentary incredibly well, as if each episode focusses a completely different aspect on the club.

Also good to shine light on the controversies like the hooliganism, and not shy away that it is an issue.

The hooligan episode was surprising, partly because of some fans fairly relaxed attitude towards it, and also the mob of Wrexham fans beating up another Wrexham fan.

The lad that runs the pub said something along the lines of "some people think hooligans don't belong in the game, and maybe they're right", which was such an odd way of wording it, almost with hooligan sympathies. There's no maybe about it.

The last few episodes were very good and you can see how the hollwood owners are sucked in beyond return. Poor bastards.

Finished it.

Ryan and Rob are great. Nice to see Ryan going from seeing it as more of a side project financially to becoming insanely invested too.

I thought the manager and most of the players came across really well. Seems to be a proper culture at the club, something that’s probably been missing at Utd! I guess there has to be when you’re playing at a level where the difference in salaries between leagues is so massive and you’re playing to live a normal life and not a privileged one. Liked the young lad Jordan Davies a lot. Poor kid.

Somewhere between the two probably.

Stand by McDonalds for 30 mins and you’ve got a decent chance of being abused or offered drugs.… or both. Nights out at the weekends can be a bit dodgy too.

But that’s the town centre. Go outside it to the numerous areas that make up Wrexham and there’s plenty of nice places (and some not so).

The grounds good though :)
The town centre is still a good night out, can’t beat the Long Pull for a proper pub!

At the very last shot of the 1st season, they showed a tactics board, which I found funny. The board had 12 players on it - playing a 5-4-2 formation

Finished the first season last night. I really enjoyed it and it has me checking in weekly to see how Wrexham are doing this year. I wonder if this series offsets money they invest in the club, or if it just covers production of the series?

Just watched the hooliganism episode, and I just felt bad for the girl who had to give up on her Police job because of her boyfriend

Been watching the series, got to the Wembley episode so far, but yeah that episode stuck out a lot. That's what blind love will do to someone. Felt bad for the girl.

Also, the episode where the midfielder (Jordan?) finds out his wife has had a miscarriage was rough.

Looking forward to finishing the series within these 2-3 days, I've liked it.

This (football) season has probably worked out perfectly for them for making the next series. Should be some very good tv.

Just watched episode 9 of season 2. Bloody hell, they pictured Ben Foster as a Michael Jordan or a Tom Brady level of athlete

Yeah I feel for the Americans watching who will think he’s some all-timer

That's obvious trolling to generate engagement to be fair. Engagement FC at this point is all Wrexham are :wenger:
