Weird feelings of football

Harry Winks has never actually done anything, other than exist in a line-up
He's from the Bobby Moore School of English Boys whereby being more English than everyone else - with really neat hair - affords them added praise. Scott Parker and Mark Noble were both Head Boys in their day.

FA cup finals in the 70s & 80s were all classic games in the sunshine, since the 90s theyve been rubbish and its been overcast

Everytime you see PSG losing to a small club in Ligue 1, it feels like it happens every other week and PSG are struggling this season. Then you look at the table and see that the gap between them and the second placed team is actually 15+ points and they’ve won 80% of their matches.

Spurs have gone behind in every single game since Mourinho took over.

YES!

I can't imagine Arsene Wenger wearing anything that doesn't have a pocket while standing in a queue. Or Fergie not chewing bubble gum while standing in a queue. Or Ole not smiling while standing in a queue. Or Moyes speaks spanish while standing in a spanish queue.

I can imagine any other manager do those.

Every Liverpool win this season has been 1-0 with Mane scoring the winner.

Once you have become a professional football, unless you suffer from a career ending injury, you are a professional footballer for life. It doesn't matter if you lack the required mentality, are nowhere near the required standard, have bitten fellow players, kicked fans, had affairs with team mates wives, racially abused other players, failed drugs tests etc. your career will continue as normal.

Players like Ravel Morrison have done nothing for 10 years but It genuinely doesn't matter, there always someone who will give you another chance. Many players that are not good enough will have a close call and look like their career is about to end like Hal Robson -Kanu did at the age of 26, just before the last Euros but they will always get a goal at just the right time and then their career carries on as normal.

The first leg of a two-legged game rarely has a bearing on the result of the second leg anymore thanks to Barcelonas carry on the last few years.

Lose the first leg 3-0 at home? No problem you just win the away leg 6-0.

Posted it in the matchday thread, but it's better here.

When a team keeps drawing tactical fouls during a game, the other team always ends up getting the first booking of the game for their first or second foul.
Quoting myself here. Watch us get the first yellow after Watford getting away with pulling back on counters and scissor tackles from behind.

Anyone who has played for more than one of the main London clubs is almost always a quite odd, peculiarly unlikeable sort.

More teams get promoted into the Premier League than get relegated every year.

I was gonna say we've never had an evening kick off against Everton but there was one where Van Persie made his debut
Also the one when we scored three goals in the last five minutes to win 3-0 in 2002.

That was at Old Trafford though wasn't it? Scholes worldie. I can remember many at OT but only one or two at Goodison. We always play them around lunch time there.

Olivier Giroud is the world's best striker when his team is a goal down in the last 10 minutes of a game. Completely useless in any other circumstances.

Atletico Madrid have been a top team for quite a while now but no one really knows anything about their players. You could show me a picture of most of their players and I wouldn't know who is who or how long they've been at the club etc.

Every time we sign a player, they will be player of the month in the month they join

If Liverpool had signed a top class goalkeeper seven or eight years ago and they had remained injury free, they would have won several league titles and Champions League Finals.
