We clearly need a bit of fight in our team. What combative, fearless players do you want?

A Suarez would be incredible. What a player.

We don't need fight. We need talent.

Shawcross is a good shout, as is Pogba.

I'd take Mario Mandzukic. Loves a scrap, hard worker and he isn't afraid to sprint 40 yards to tell the ref/opposition/own team what he thinks of them.

People are being silly asking for Wes Brown and for time traveling to be invented, so we can bring in a young Bastian.

Being realistic, I always said someone like Ibrahimovic is perfect, if you need some "fight" and leadership in the team - both of which we lack.
This guy will give refs a very hard time, without getting sent off, Unlike Rooney who just shouts out refs which has no effect.
The only problem is that Ibra is so combative, he may call out LVG & Rooney for being shit.
If he does join though, expect plenty of spectacular goals - some fans may not want this, if they prefer boring football.

Meh to combatative, fearless players.
I'd take ronaldo of 5 years ago in a heartbeat over them
despite the moaning, crying, diving etc

We need quality, not a few lumps who'll shout a bit.

Zlatan up front, Schweinsteiger in midfield, Smalling and Stones in defence. Get Griezmann too and we're set, see if we can get Koke too whilst we're at it.

Think it's do-able gang?

The team sounds great but can we give the charlie a miss? I have an early start in the morning.

Gotta love caf.

In Herrera's comeback game against Chelsea he made two or three harsh fouls and everyone criticised him for being brainless and saying he shouldn't be doing that.

Whenever we are missing something in the team people notice it, but when we actually bring players who do that then we criticise him for doing that.

Reminds me of our wingers situation under in last few years, even against Fergie. When we played Valencia as a winger everyone kept saying we need someone creative, and when we play Nani people criticise him for being lazy defensively and trying things too much and want Valencia back in the team. Same situation with di Maria last year.

That isn't the style I'm talking about. Sure, Keano clattered in to people but so did Scholes, and that was one of Scholesy's biggest weaknesses. We need a player who is tough but resilient and intelligent, not just someone who snaps everyone. Think of Schweinsteiger a couple seasons ago, or imagine if Wilshere is much better than he's turning out to be. Someone like that.

However I do think Herrera would fit the bill, he just needs to step his game up a notch. A string of starts would bloody help.

We could do with it, but not at the expense of ability, as so often is the case.

United desperately needs a centre back. Jones is never healthy enough o be relied upon and Blind is not cb material at all. Who? I don't know.

But for the past year and half I've been wanting United to buy Harry Kane to play up top. Just make it happen.

Fair enough, altough I think some people would still be critical of that, even after asking for that kind of player.

And get rid of that lamp post Fellaini. This is the only way to guarantee that he'd never start ever again.

Stevie G on a loan

We should have bought Sanchez when he left Barcelona. For £30m it's insane we didn't go for him

This.

We have enough fight in our team. I don't see what City or Arsenal have in this regard that is particularly special. Schweinsteiger has one of the best mentalities in the game. Rooney has always been a fighter. Schneiderlin is a no nonsense tackler in midfielder. Smalling is usually brutal to play against. Herrera might seem polite but is a gritty chap on the pitch.

It's the quality, especially in attack, where we lack, and possibly the way we set up.

No we don't. Not a single player, Bastian excepted, is a fighter.
We have a bunch of nice guys playing for us.

I don't see what City or Arsenal have in this regard that is particularly special.

Arsenal are a bunch of nice guys, also. And they don't win the title either.
Now, the "invincibles". Remember that team? That team was combative and its no surprise that they won a lot of games.

Check this out:

These days, our (nice) guys shake hands in the tunnel, with our opponents, before the game.
When we (and Arsenal) were at their peak, the video above shows what used to happen.
If we had Keane in our team, do you think Vardy would be able to bully us like he did, in that LCFC game?

Rooney has always been a fighter.

Correction: Rooney used to be a fighter. I would love to have a 19 year old Rooney. He was ferocious.
Today, Rooney is just another nice guy, who I'd be happy to invite to my gran's house, for dinner.

Smalling is usually brutal to play against.

Didn't he get torn apart by Vardy last season?
He is as mentally weak as the rest of our players. We collapse under pressure and this has happened time and time again.
Newcastle being the most recent.

Herrera might seem polite but is a gritty chap on the pitch.

No. I don't think he is gritty at all. He is just another nice guy who would, step back if R.Keane and P.Vieira were getting into one.

It's the quality, especially in attack, where we lack, and possibly the way we set up.

Yes, this is true.

What "fighters" do City and Arsenal have?

If it's similar to us, then we don't "need" it. Could do with it? Sure.

Arsenal are a bunch of nice guys, also. And they don't win the title either.

We aren't up against the Invincibles, or United of the early 00's.

We can aim to have a few more warriors in our side but it's not a necessity.

Why do we desperately "need" fighters in our teams when the teams that will most likely win the league this season have more or less the same as us?

Correction: Rooney used to be a fighter. I would love to have a 19 year old Rooney. He was ferocious.

Funnily enough, Rooney's best football came after he had matured. That Rooney would be more useful to us than the 18 year old one.

Did we never lose a game with Keane in our side, or something?

Of course, everyone would love to have a Roy Keane in their team but I'd like to know where one is available right now?

Also, the video you're using is of one of the great top level rivalries. That stuff can't be artificially created. It happens naturally born out of competing at the top in addition to having certain characters. We first have to step up our football level to match that of City and co. then we can focus on these less important matters.

Didn't he get torn apart by Vardy last season?

Didn't Rio get torn apart away at Blackburn or Vidic against Torres? Shit happens.

Maybe he should have done better in those games, but I'd rather he did the actual defending better rather than act mental.

No. I don't think he is gritty at all. He is just another nice guy who would, step back if R.Keane and P.Vieira were getting into one.
How many teams actually have Keane and Vieira type players these days, anyway?

Too easy.
