@Arbitrium @2mufc0 you cannot judge performance without tactical fit. For example, I pick Maradona and play him as a DM, would you still vote for it ignoring the tactical blunder?

The role need not be a exact one-to-one match, but tactically what is expected of the player should be similar to what he played in the chosen WC peak.
Isn't that what he said though?

I think his point was more about using tactics from a club or different tournament and applying it to the selected player.

Either way i agree with you, the way i see it the players should be judged on 1. that years WC performance 2. If the player played in a similar role system (doesn't have to be exact).

I disagree there. Players should be judged on WC form in that tournament and whether they can fit/fulfill the role here based on those WC performances and his level at the time.

Besides some teams played in not so rigid formations - for example Cruyff you can use pretty much as a false 9, outside playmaker on the LW, #10 and so forth. You can't pin him on a sole position and count it as a tactical error if you try to fit him with other individuals from different WC tournaments.

There are also players like Benarrivo and Zambrotta who often switched flanks in the course of the tournament, Stoichkov and Robben playing all over the attack(central and wide) more as a second strikers and not traditional wingers, Maldini playing wide and CB after Baresi got injured etc..

This is what I done.

I don’t think I’ve said I wouldn’t judge tactical fit, just that their overall impact and performance in the tournament will be the number one determining factor.

I hope everything is OK @Indnyc , you put together a good team just needed some reconfiguration.

I am so sorry that i couldn't come online for this. My wife suffered from another anxiety attack and we had to be in the emergency room.

We've had to take some time away from everything and focus on getting her better which is why i have been AWOL.
