What are the best goals so far?

I have:

- RVP's header vs. Spain



- Thought England's one was pretty slick



- Cahill's goal against the Netherlands



What are your favourite goals so far Caftards?

Sturridge Over Chile's goal??? lol
 
Cahill's for me, though that could be becuase I'm an aussie. RVP is a close second.

Nah just a thread to post your favourite goals, I missed a few of course! We could try to organize a 'top 10' or something at the end of the comp, why not, but I just wanted to create a thread with vids of the tournaments nice goals. :)
 
van Persie's is probably my favourite to watch because it's so unique, I mean he literally f*cking bellyflopped on to the grass. I remember when he was initially going for it I was totally baffled by what he was trying, only for it to hit the net.

Cahill's is probably the best on a technical level though.
 
Van Persies by a mile.

Its annoying me how people are comparing Cahills goal to van Bastens.Yeah it was a well timed volley,but precision, technique and the angle need to be thought about harder when considering both.

Cahills was a great strike and all,Marcos was light years better.
 
RVP's was s superb piece of football and a wonderful finish.

Cahill's strike was incredible and the best goal i can recall an Australian scoring.
 
I think RvP's is the best so far. More inventive than Cahill's.
 
RvP's was awesome. Chile's first last night was a well worked goal i thought.
 
No one even mentioned Robben's sceond yet. I thought it was better than RVP's header to be honest. That spead for that goal was ridiculous.
 
RVP is the one that we would remember for ages, I think. I can't remember any other goal scored with such technique.
Cahill is brilliant too, but not really unique.

I quite liked Robben's goal when he danced his way around the spanish defenders
 
Cahill's for me as well, and I'm not an Aussie.:)

He had a defender coming close to him and he drove the ball just enough to strike the small angle over the keeper but inside the frame. And I thought he was right-footed.
 
Van Persie's and Messi's are the best in my opinion, Van Persie just because of the audacity and the timing of it. Whilst Messi's because the dribble was fantastic and the shot couldn't have been hit better.
 
I think it's impossible to compare team goals to individual goals so I won't attempt to. Chile's is the best team goal so far, and I'd have RVP for best individual goal. Cahill's strike was obviously brilliant but you see a few of those a season. RVP's header was really innovative, I'm struggling to recall any others like it.

Not the best goal of the tournament by any means, but I think Clint Dempsey's against Ghana is worth a mention. Comedic defending, it must be said.


 
The goals mentioned were fantastic but Messi's is going under the radar, since its a bit ho-hum for him
 
We've seen some excellent goals so far. Great team goals, amazing individual goals and improvised one's like van Persie's header against Spain. All that's really been missing is a few free kicks and some long range screamers.

Game breaking goal, extreme pressure on him.. in the Maracana the spiritual home of Brazilian football.
 
I think Honda deserves a mention. My second favourite goal so far, just behind Cahill.

 
After the build up Robbie Savage gave Cahill's goal, my reaction on seeing it was "Oh. Was that it?" It was a good strike but nowhere as good as RvP's against Villa.

RvP's header is in another league. Easily the best goal so far. A real "WOW!" moment.
 
Both teams were playing for nothing but not a bad goal in his last international appearance.

 
RVP header for me is the best, just because it's so outrageous and unique.

Cahills volley was a stunner, no doubt, but just not as impressive as the header, personally.

As for Messi, I've not seen his second but the first one needed a deflection to go in off the post. Nice dribble but for me not worthy of being discussed in this topic. As it's him though it always will.
