Congrats to Rooney, got to give it to him.

Love him or hate him you don't become both England and Manchester United captain AND leading goalscorer by accident.

Imagine that sentence for ANY other footballer amongst fans captain AND leading goalscorer for club AND country..... absolute legend.

History defining goal and he dispatched that free kick with such assurance. He's looked a bit anxious in front of goal for a while now. Finally that's off his back so he better start scoring a bit more regularly again.

Great goal but he was poor in general play.

Although i think we should have started him or Lingarrd instead of Mata.

It was a goal that deserved to be a winner really. He might be coming to the end now, but what a career he's had for us. One of my favourite United players ever, I hope we can get another couple of trophies before he eventually moves on.
 
The scenes if that had been a winning goal! Still, amazing personal achievement for Rooney and hopefully an important result come the end of the season, although we really needed those 3pts today.
 
Its also a shame he couldnt celebrate such an achievement as it deserves because of the score, but credit to him for not celebrating. But at least he broke the record with such an amazing goal and not a tap in in a cup game.

Well done Rooney, you are a legend.
 
Hopefully this is a weight off his shoulders and he can stop trying so hard.
