Was this our best Post-Ferguson victory?

It definitely feels like it right now, I don't recall being as happy when we won trophies under Mourinho while the 2016 cup final was tarnished by the fact that it leaked about 5 minutes after the game that Van Gaal was gone which felt like a bit of a grubby way to go about it. Some of the early wins under Ole would be up there, not necessarily in terms of importance, because it was really exciting watching us beating good teams (e.g. convincingly winning away to Arsenal and Chelsea in the cup and the PSG comeback) with a club legend overseeing things.

That was one of united best performances ever. Everything was near perfect.

I ca t understand how anyone is even debating this. Yes PSG was amazing but it got us frm last 16 to 1/4 finals

beating city in the cup will always surpass that, surely?

today is the best day since our last title win

This was the best feeling in many a year that's for sure. I also disagree that the Europa is a bigger deal than the FA cup. I think they are about the same level of prestige.

PSG battered us though, comfortably better over 2 legs. It was great because they’re such dicks but it was jammy. Felt like we played well for this win, they didn’t really create much at all and resorted to constantly just hoping Doku could do something for the whole second half.
Don't get me wrong. In terms of win quality. This is up there with Oles away win at the Eithad vs City. Today IMO we were comfortably better. But in terms of sheer sweetness. We had no business beating PSG with the skeleton crew that went to Paris.

Has to be.
We beat arguably the best team in world football, they are our closest rivals and we stopped them being the first club to do back to back doubles and it is the best domestic cup competition in the world.

Yesterday in terms of executing a performance with our backs against the wall but it has to be the Europa for me. 2 days after the arena bombing and all our city came together through the grief and hurt and there was a genuine desire across red and blue and across the country to see us win. It felt right and was a massive glint of light in one of our darkest times as a city

This one or the Europa League win probably take it but it's hard to say. It's hard to top beating a major rival in a final, one year after they beat us in the same game. We also had that legendary Liverpool game on route which helps. The circumstances around Ten Hag in this game make the game all that sweeter I think. A rare loss for Pep in a final too. That Coventry game still gives me nightmares though.

Europa League probably did feel as special a moment as the above because it's hard to match those conditions. But it was a season defining win seeing as we kind of took our foot off the gas in the league. If we had not won the Europa League then, it would hwve looked very bad for us.

It was sweeter because it was City, because of where we are and where they are. 8/1 to win a game that tell it all..

At half time odds on to win City 4/1.. that's how much it changed, it was a top quality 97mins 1 mistake that was keeper should have saved that shot.. it was a well deserved victory, were quick enough to condem this team, should be quick enough to praise them as well..

This was a great win and its up there with the best ones..

Not sure as a one off game, but if you take it out of the context of the rest of this season, this FA Cup run overall has been the most epic thing we've done post Ferguson, for both good and bad reasons.

Winning it gives the crazy quarter final win over Liverpool the meaning that it deserved.

You know what's mad?

Since Fergie left we've won 2 Fa Cups, 2 League Cups and a Europa League.

You could argue that only City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Leicester (mainly due to their ridiculous 2016 title) have had a better time than us.

For all their bravado, Arsenal have only won an FA Cup since Arteta came in. They keep talking about the "project" but if said project is just gonna be bottling any chance of success when it comes then what's the point.

Look at Newcastle United as well. They're buzzing that they finished higher than us but still won nothing.

You look at someone like Harry Kane. I reckon he'll happily swap 100 of his goals to have won 5 major trophies like Marcus Rashford has

This or the Europa League win. The EL win was great as it’s hard to win European competitions, it got us into the champions league and it was a day after the Manchester bombings. But I think this was the sweetest because we had to beat City to do it.

Barca away, superb performance.
in terms of satisfaction, winning yesterday when we all expected a Drubbing was sweet

My favourite game and it’s not even close. Being underdogs and beating City in a cup final whilst playing well was a brilliant day for the fans

I’ve woke up absolutely buzzing this morning

It was a pretty incredible cup run let’s be honest. The weird game against Newport, the all-time great game against Liverpool, the madness of Coventry and a final where we make the best team in the country look average.

I'd say yes.

That Europa League victory was a typical Mourinho performance, not great to watch just a tactical masterclass and grinding out a result from start to finish.

The first half yesterday was the best football I have seen from us for a long time. We were better than City. We outmatched them in intensity, hunger and discipline.
The second half was kind of crap and they totally dominated us, but that first half was top notch. Football of the highest order. The only team I have seen this season play like that was Atalanta vs Leverkusen.
We played City better in the first half then Real did when they eliminated them.

I'm one of this squad's and coaching staff's biggest critics, but full credit to them for that first half performance yesterday! The 2007 squad with the greatest manager of all time couldn't have done it better.

One of my favourite days as a United fan. Whatever happens with Ten Hag now, I'll always have gratitude for today, the League Cup and most importantly Mainoo and Garnacho.
