Vinicius Junior

@carvajal @GatoLoco @Vato @giorno

Do you guys still want Hazard in the summer with Vinicius playing this well? Don't think they'd fit in the same starting eleven.

Any rumours on how the summer transfer window will go?

It's a tricky one but at the end of the day I think it's a yes. I will try to anticipate what it's going to happen.

Madrid, who are out of la liga and copa, will eliminate Ajax but will fall at some point in quarters or semis, simply because a team that can have 15 chances and score none (like yesterday) is not champions material and never will be. Or as some journalist said today, football is played anywhere on the pitch, but only defined inside the boxes.

The narrative (word I wanted to ban in this forum myself) will be: "The CL generation is old and demotivated so it has to be subbed little by little. Trusting youngsters (like Reguilon or Vinicius) is ok, but they cannot take all the responsibility or they will get burned. Madrid need proven cracks now".

Now, which are the available cracks? The most evident one in terms of quality and availability is Hazard. Hazard adds qualities that would benefit Madrid's attack considerably, so I think he should be signed.

Which is going to be the excuse to sign Hazard in the Vinicius context. Something like: "although it's obvious there is a conflict if both of them are in the squad, they can fit together in a 4-4-2 with Vinicius as a second striker or in a 4-2-3-1 with Hazard behind the striker".

After this year, the "let's see if X takes the responsibility" philosophy won't be popular anymore. It was a bet, that could be ok or not, and it wasn't, so human psychology will make Florentino do the reverse thing next season. The bigger the failure, the bigger Florentino's reaction.

I asked myself and wrote something similar a while ago but I can not find it.

Yes, I still want him but mainly because he wants to play in Madrid. He has expressed it very clearly and I would be sorry for him.
As I said, it's a kind of acquired fan commitment.

I think this time his signing is a priority .
The press said that the transfer ban may be an impediment, but also name Pulisic, as a reason to trust.
You know that Madrid don't always sign according the needs of the squad.
Maybe Hazard in the center or another system instead of the 4-3-3 on which many hypotheses are based.
In any case if I only had a signing (not counting Mbappé) would be Kane.

The problem with Kane is Florentino will probably think he can sign all of Hazard, Eriksen and Militao for less than what Kane would cost. The kind of money he would only give for Mbappe or Neymar at certain point.

He's fantastic, I was really impressed with him last game. He has a knack for creating danger and getting himself into dangerous positions. Obviously, he has to work on some of his decision-making and finishing, but that's going to happen with time. We are talking about a teenager, Madrid payed for his potential not for his actual output which I would wager is exceeding their own internal expectations. If he keeps this up and adds finishing to his game, he will be competing for the mantle of best player in the world in a few years, my main question is will he be motivated always, is he going to avoid partying as he becomes a star, it's all mental questions for me, I have no questions about his talent and ability.

Looks a cut or 2 above the likes of Rashford at a similar age. The goals will come in time.

Best definition I've seen so far.

Vinicius has the dribbling of Luis Figo, the speed of Cristiano Ronaldo, the intensity of Raul and the finishing of Edwin Congo.

One of the weird cases where he is doing much better in Europe than Brazil. Maybe Madrid complements his skill set better.

Yes, we need to sign him. Vinicius shows some promise but he hasn't completely convinced me yet. Get Hazard who is way more influential. A new manager too, one who could somehow shoehorn Isco, Hazard and Vinicius into the same squad. Which is probably pretty impossible unless we play with 3 defenders.

Brazil called him up for their senior squad today.

Would it make sense to sign someone like Hazard and then don't deploy him in his preferred position? I didn't catch a lot of Chelsea games this season, but I've heard rumblings whenever Sarri tried him through the center.

We used to say this about Welbeck. Several years later, He's at Arsenal and still falling on his arse in front of the goal.

Was Welbeck the best player on a pitch containing Messi, Suarez, Kroos and others at age 18?

Saw him a couple of times when I was in Brazil, he looked very impressive then, even as a teenager.

How has he been faring for Real?

Have to consider he's only 18 and only played the equivalent minutes of 7 games in the league, scored twice. Hasn't been a starter all season, but is now and looks like RMs most dangerous player when I've seen him.

Hard to know how a player will develop, depends on his mentality a lot, it's possible he won't even peak for 7+ years. Considering that he is one hell of a prospect.

See lots and lots of potential. He's got everything: Pace, dribbling, skills, technique, intelligence but so far he still kind of lacks the basics.

The next years will be exciting. There are so many great youngsters around: Mbappe, Dembele, Vinicius, Sancho, Havertz, Rodrygo, Sane, Foden, Asensio and every single one just oozes quality.

He’s got great balance to go with his acceleration, and good on both feet. I think it’s fair to say Real have a great player on their hands.

The main thing is he gets into goal scoring positions regularly. Even if he’s not the most composed finisher most will score 1/4 of their chances.

Too much hype. Would be warranted if his decision making or composure infront of goal were well beyond his age but he really sucks at both and it's not a given at all that it will improve only because he is 18 and drives the ball forward well. 90 % chance he'll be the next Gervinho.

Also he isn't Madrid's most dangerous player. All the chances of Madrid just fall for him, that team is used to create everything on the left wing with a beta striker like Benzema.

Surely gotta put Rashford on that list too?

Who is the most dangerous player?

He is their go to guy, give the ball to Vinicius and hope he makes something. A bit ridiculous, Bale is disappearing and this guy has toi carry their attack in his first season. It might work against average opposition, but against top sides he will naturally struggle. Barca adapted to him well in the second game. Give him 2 or 3 years with a stronger and more balanced/dangerous Madrid side, then we can judge. He still has impressed more than anyone ever thought.

I don't think you're watching enough of Vinicus if you hold this view. I know it's a cliche to say that finishing and composure comes with age but he just really is very young right now and he's going to improve. To come into the Madrid team and become their brightest spark and to create all their chances is no mean feat. We'll see in a couple of years if he can begin to be decisive in the box but he's understandably been praised. He absolutely destroyed Semedo midweek and Semedo isn't even a bad defender.

bad news for them, they are dependent on him. His output may not be the best for now, but at least he creates a lot of danger.

Could be up to 2 months out, such a shame for him as he was really finding his feet. He's very enjoyable to watch from the little I've seen.

He reminds me of Sterling before Guardiola took over. Once he calms down a bit infront of goal he will be a player.

He went from not playing at all to playing every time.

Finishing is something that can be improved.

Suffice to look at the progress made by Aubameyang since the start of his carreer in this aspect.

It's a shame, he was really finding a groove on the team and often was the player that stood out despite not having much of an end product. To do that at 18 years old is very impressive, and it sucks to see him stopped in his track by a ligament injury. Hopefully his recovery goes well and this isn't something that turns into a recurring issue.

When people ask for a player who massively improved his finishing ability one example that is obviously mentioned is CR7.

Seriously now. Was Cristiano's finishing ever even close to that horrible? It's been a long, long time...

In his first season at United, the amount of people that called Cristiano a one-trick pony was ridiculous. He always had immense skill on the ball but he developed his finishing over time. It wasn't until about 2007 that he really began to flourish in terms of shooting and precision.

Poor guy hasn't played a single minute since Zidane returned. They must not have the best relation..

 Wait, he is?

That's how much I follow football.
 why have you stopped following football this season - performances related? Jeez Vato, imagine being a United fan for past 6-7 years

I am also not sure re his injury, but iirc he suffered a bad one in the Ajax match at the Bernabeu, or something. I thought it was a season ending injury.

Yeah - got injured in the return leg in the beginning of March and they said he was out for 2 months. No reason to rush him back for the last few La Liga games imo since they have nothing left to play for.
