Villa Fines List | Steven Gerrard is Captain Petty | SNUS

I didn’t post it because I think it’s bad. It was the tobacco bags that stood out. A cancer causing non-performance enhancing substance being prevalent enough to garner fines is mad.

£200/minute is how you instill discipline as a new manager. Klopp and Pep could have £10k fines as a default right now and few would ever pay.

God no I wasn't suggesting that you did!! Obviously anything Gerrard does will be mostly ridiculed here (and deservedly so, I mean John O'Shea was more successful!!). However, yeah I look at this and think thats what our players need. Talented as hell but you need to work hard or face consequences. However obviously the biggest thing with Pep and Klopp is that they are incredible footballing minds first and foremost. I'm positive this season and for the future, for the first time in ages, because I honestly think, regardless of discipline, we have, at least, the 3rd best coach in the league.

Maybe…. Tuchel and Conte are on the same level to be fair.

Wow, 37 replies and nobody's said it yet! I'm very disappointed cafetards!

I guess I'll have to say it then...how much fine for a slip??

Probably why he doesn't want them wearing flip flops in the shower.

Imagine going into your work place and having to deal with this shit. I think I'd quit in a day.

We had similar when I played (obviously nowhere near as much £££) and the fine money just went to the end of season party.

I think it's a good idea tbf. We even have rules for a game of 6 a side I play in, it's at 6am and your fined if your late, sleep in and miss it etc, all goes to a kitty for the christmas night out.

I would easly put few more things up there. For exempel: no social media posts minimum 3 days after a loss or draw. Otherwise 10000.

I think he could be in for a rude awakening this season. Doesn't have his assistant anymore and wasn't very good at the back end of last season. He has a worse record than Lampard does with us but doesn't get the same focus of criticism. If he doesn't start well he could be in the mix for an early sacking.

Not sure that's right - since taking over Gerrard has 1.30 points per game, Lampard only 1.11.

Agree that he might struggle without Beale, who was always rated as an exceptional coach and drilled shape better than just about anyone.

Every club has such code of conduct and fines list. United do too.

Yep. It's like they running an army bootcamp, not a professional workplace for adults.

I wonder what other sports (NFL, Basketball, Cricket etc.) are like.

Sorry, I meant that he has a worse win percentage, which is still poor given the state of each squad/transfer window.

Villa have already said it's an old list from before Gerrard joining the club.

It has to be like that when you are dealing with men-children, most of whom are spoiled beyond repair, being pampered since they showed promise at 15-18.

Otherwise it spins out of control, as we've seen numerous times.

And those english media clowns are mocking and bantering ETH's 5 list of things....

Yeah, I wonder what Agbonlohor has to say about his former clubs fines. When he had a go at ETH's fines calling them over the top.

At least ETH's fines would mean more, someone earning 100k a week getting fined £100 is nothing, compare to not being allowed to play.

At least we are moving in a direction where its instilling discipline as to "I can be late, its only 100 fine".

Apologies if posted elsewhere. The SNUS fine is mad. Had no idea it was such a big deal.

Edit - Can’t post image. Someone do the honours please?

No fine for putting on a high pitched scouse accent and saying don't let it slip.

I think if I was having to pay £200 for being 1 min late on the pitch I'd be running on doing just that

I thought it was the other way around? They get fined for not wearing flip flops?

Yeah you spread things like veruca and athletes foot by not wearing flip flops so that makes more sense.

As for snus it's manky stuff that fecks up your gums and mouth cancer is feckin awful.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyeahhhhhcourse, these rules are set in stone lads. Do the crime, pay the fine. Tomorrow we go again, flip-flops in the shower, no one slips...

Agreed on Beale, one of the big reasons Gerrard done well at Rangers was cause he had him in there in my opinion. Interested to see how he does out on his own.

I work at a professional workplace for adults. People are late ALL THE TIME.

Fines for being one second late is evidence of ultra professionalism in my opinion.

Can't see the problem with any of them to be honest, some of them are clearly tongue in cheek like the birthday cake one, whilst the shower/flip flops one is more as a gentle health and safety device/reminder to avoid spreading veruuca or athlete's foot.

None of these fines will mean much in the financial sense to any prem player, its more a way of enthsizing rules/standards.

Are you joking? What benefit is it for a footballer?
I never said it was a benefit, and no I’m not joking, that’s literally what snus is.

What’s the benefit of smoking in general? Or drinking 10 pints on a Friday night? What’s the benefit of eating takeaway or chocolate? To anyone, never mind footballers. Fact of the matter is, no matter how bad something is, people still like to engage in the occasional escapism or recreational activity. Snus is at least better for your lungs than smoking is, which as we know is super important to a footballer.

What an absolute fecking penis of a man.

There’s one about not contacting a doctor if you’re ill. what if you’re too ill to call them? And forgetting birthday cakes

Aren’t snus illegal in the uk? Which is hilarious considering cigarettes are readily available
