Apologies if posted elsewhere. The SNUS fine is mad. Had no idea it was such a big deal.

Edit - Can’t post image. Someone do the honours please?

£50 a day for not bringing cakes. Is that like, until your next birthday?

Snus isn’t chewing tobacco you lunatics. It’s a tiny tea bag thing that contains tobacco/nicotine and other substances that’s highly popular in Scandinavia as an alternative to smoking.

You pop it in your mouth and stuff it up under your top lip. You usually use it for 15 to 20 minutes then you take it out before it bursts.

You definitely don’t chew this stuff.

I ruined Christmas a few years ago put 3 snus in the same time. Blew my twat off. Spewed everywhere.

It's fake. I don't see no mention of putting the wrong song in the lockerroom and Yaya Touré isn't at Aston Villa.

I seen this on Reddit and assumed Snus meant those scarf snood things until I read the comments, never heard of Snus before and can't believe the fine isn't higher compared to the other stuff.

Imagine how popular the Hall Monitor is…..

Annual fines used to go to the YTS kids. I wonder what the deal is nowadays. Charity I guess.

Forgetting cakes on birthdays one is brutal. There always someone who has a birthday.

They have agents. Ordering cake for the back room staff on time is a doozy. They’re hardly running to Pattiserie Valerie.

Late for training is 500 or 200 per minute? I'll take the flat 500 and take my time.

but clubs have several hundred employees though. They should have someone do the 'chip in for cake' emails at least.
Of course, if it's part of the agents task list then the fine is fine.

£500 for being late to training, yet £200 a minute late to training.

Riiight.

Are you joking? What benefit is it for a footballer?

I read that as it is both. I guess they go out onto the pitch shortly after report time so it would be 500 just for not reporting on time and then once things move to the pitch an additional 200 a minute until you make it onto the pitch.

Look I don't like the guy as much as anyone but this is fair play. You're paid a stupidly high amount of money to kick a ball around so the very least you can do is be professional. I can't imagine this is much different to the rules under Klopp and Pep, although I reckon Pep is even stricter. Hopefully ETH has something similar in place since he's come in. Surely a great way to identify who doesn't have the personality to make it at the very top level as part of a team sport.

Edit: surely the point is to end up with nobody being fined as the rules become clear and players adapt to them. I'm sure allowances are also made for extraordinary circumstances like bereavements, family issues etc.

I don't think there's any benefit to using it but pro athletes can't exactly smoke cigarettes so if they still want to use nicotine products, snus is a 'better' alternative because unlike smoking it doesn't negatively affect performance either.

I've been a daily snus user for the last 5-6 years myself because I enjoy the feeling and taste.

Ah, so basically it’s got the same kick as smoking but no impact on the lungs?
To have fine for that means it must be a thing at villa as never heard of it

assuming the same as vaping?

I mean you likely just get some sort of mouth cancer instead, dental paradentose and your gums slowly recede..

People litter snus everywhere on the streets. Its absolutely disgusting, spitting them out when "done". And also very hazardous, these days most of them (in Dk anyway) have very appealing tastes almost like candy, which in turn also leads to dogs eating them from the streets and get nicotine poisoning. A few cases already with small dogs dying.

I didn’t post it because I think it’s bad. It was the tobacco bags that stood out. A cancer causing non-performance enhancing substance being prevalent enough to garner fines is mad.

£200/minute is how you instill discipline as a new manager. Klopp and Pep could have £10k fines as a default right now and few would ever pay.

I think science is settled on it causing oral / throat cancer to be fair.

Yep, pretty much. With snus the nicotine is absorbed straight from your gums to the bloodstream.

One pouch of snus which is kept under the lip for maybe 15-20 minutes usually contains an amount of nicotine equal to multiple cigarettes so the effect is a bit stronger too.

I wouldn't exactly say it's good for one's health because it's definitely addictive and with heavy use can mess up your gums but still probably less adverse effects than smoking.

Wow, 37 replies and nobody's said it yet! I'm very disappointed cafetards!

I guess I'll have to say it then...how much fine for a slip??

Good idea having these fines, he doesn't want the standards to slip
