Villa agree 6m fee for Dunne

Not even Europe league!!

Like they said on the BBC, Martin O'Neill will probably look at this as a blessing with the paper thin squad they have. He obviously didnt give a toss about it last year.

He looked pretty pissed after that loss to be fair

A manager will always be pissed when his side loses, especially too inferior opposition, but when he awoke on Friday morning i expect he would have been reflecting and realising it's probably for the best, because the extra games killed them last year.

Seems he's had a bust up with Houllier and McAllister and has been stripped of the (temporary) captaincy and dropped. The Irish papers have it that he wants to leave but doesn't think there will be any takers given his wages.

Shame really....he's a great leader and should be the Ireland captain for years now.

His form has suffered dramtically this season although Its as much about those around him as himself. Houillier has made some bizarre team selections so far. Clarke as a holding midfielder on front of of Dunne and Collins being one of the worst....

Would be good for Newcastle. Sol Campbell is awfully slow, if he's a dog, he would have been put to sleep to reduce the pain from watching him get torn apart by opposing players.

Despite one incredible DERP moment on Saturday he and Taylor were very good against both Liverpool and Chelsea.

what?
they had woodgate, king, kaboul, gallas out but they still had dawson and bassong available.
why would you suggest that another CB will be good for them?

How often are Woodgate and King playing then ? Well done for including two of the games biggest sicknotes in your list.

Dawson is slow as feck, Gallas and Bassong aren't all that.

What would be good for Spurs is shipping out some deadwood and getting a few proper defenders in like Dunne, that way they might get through a game without conceding.

Woodgate is done for as is King. Kaboul is not a top 4 CB. Dunne would be fantastic for them alongside Gallas albeit both are leaders and I'd imagine get into quite a number of verbal tussles.

Still think Spurs need speed in their defense but I'd take Dunne if I'm Spurs.

Houllier is a terrible manager.

Kaboul has improved a lot and is better than Dunne is now - he's also 24 compared to 31 for Dunne.

Even without Woodgate and King we still have Dawson, Gallas, Kaboul and Bassong .... and nor are Woodgate and King both necessarily "done".

I'd like to just chime in, and say the Kaboul of this season, is nothing like the Kaboul that 1st came over from France, 2-3 seasons ago.

Completely different player, reads the game better, and has always had decent pace, and brings the ball up well.

Kaboul for example would be 1st choice at Arsenal I think.
