Gaming Video games you miss

Some great shouts in here.

A few that spring to mind:

Altered Beast
Zak McKrakken
Clown O’Mania
Lemmings
Worms

Quake 3 when there was an active community.

I've played Pirates, Speedball 2, Giana Sisters and a few more in recent years and enjoyed it. They hold up well for me. graphics isn't everything.

I don't know any of those but I'm not talking graphics. Any old game I've gone back and played was rarely a good experience.

GoldenEye was the best multiperson shooter.
Yea, those 4player couch sessions were a thing to remember. Loved the single player as well. Amount of times I played that second mission alone…

Missing those NBA jam type games. There was a great one with Looney Toons too.

And the GE64 „rip-off“ is called No one lives forever (1 + 2) and is indeed missing. Not available to play since forever because of copyright stuff though there is an unofficial site that lets you download it.

Which I just did.

If any of these were announced as a remake I'd immediately be pre ordering.

Ssx tricky
Crazy taxi
Splinter cell
Simpsons hit n run

Spectrum:
Football Director
Barry McGuigan’s boxing
Match Day 2
Skooldaze

Megadrive:

Sensible Soccer
PGA Tour golf

PC:
4D boxing
Champ manager 00/01 or 01/02

Lotr: Two towers and LOTR: Return of the king. It was on PS3 20 years ago. Still beats many games from today.
Star wars; Jedi academy from 2003 (i think)
Settlers 2.
SWOS
Return to castle Wolfenstein (remember last boss?).
Outlaws

Since you brought up the Amiga...

Battle Isle on the Amiga

Super Cars 2 on the Amiga

Lotus 2 on the Amiga

Lethal Weapon on the Amiga

Sensible Soccer on the Amiga

James Pond 2: Codename: Robocod on the Amiga

Some banging soundtracks here too.

Leisure Suit Larry
BiPlanes

But yeh, Sensi Soccer was life back then.

Edit: Cannon Fodder too!!

Used to play a game called Pandemonium which was great when you’d had a smoke. Also going way back, a game called Arkenoid.

Worms Armageddon
Dropship UPF - random as hell that one
TOCA
Tony Hawks Underground
NFS Underground
Socom
Black
Battlefield 2 Modern Combat

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo - many fighting games have come and gone but nothing comes close to the hype this had, apart from...

Tekken 3 - closest I got to the same hype I felt for SSF2T.

Power Stone - preferred this to Smash Bros. I wish they would make a third one.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - unbalanced mess but really fun party game.

Cool Boarders 2 - I loved this game. Knew every track back to front.

The NOLF games were great fun for me as well. Did you ever stop to listen to the funny dialogue between enemy guards?

Every now and then, I'll think about or get a craving for the 2 Zelda games on the N64. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Or I'll get a super craving to play Perfect Dark on that system. I play the shit out of those games.

We recently had a friend stay over for a week and she's a massive gamer, too. I dug out the GameCube classics for us to play. Mario Kart Double Dash, Smash Bros Meleel, Monkey Ball, etc. I'm playing through The Wind Waker right now and it's amazing how great that game still looks. My old memory card still works (so I have all the Smash Bros data, etc) and my last save for the Wind Waker is almost 20 years to the day I started my new save. It's really quite strange.

I wish we still had strategy games like Tiberian Sun. Maybe we do and I just don't know them? Played that game tons, too.

Tyrian, Kotor, Syndicate, Dune 2, RA2, Warcraft & Starcraft, Tetris pvp on a linked Gameboy.

Elite (the original one)
Road Rash 2
Streets of Rage 2
Speedball 2
Perfect Dark (for the multi player sims)
Destruction Derby

Star Wars Galaxies, but pre combat update.
100% this.

Nothing has scratched the itch since. The Old Republic? Meh a theme park MMO with a decent levelling experience and story, and non existent end game. The repopulation? Ended up being a pile of piss.

Only thing that's close to matching the freedom and awe of scale is Star Citizen, if they come half way to realising their vision that is.

Oh man my brother and i were addicted. I was a wookie with a good crossbow. After the update I couldn’t use the crossbow and other items I had. Didn’t play it after that update, totally ruined the game for me

The flexibility was what sucked me in. Things like planting your harvesters, to having actual weapon and armour smiths, to the player cities, and the guild wars. Our server (bloodfin) we would get a load of guilds, and make two lists, then have everyone on one list would declare war on the other list for a week or so. It was chaos.

I started as a commando, then went to a pikeman/medic build. Had a mate that was one of the early Jedi's so we'd farm Nightsisters. He'd keep the crystals and I'd get all the other loot. Had a mind fire pike for the PVP which made me quite formidable.

Forgot about that one, I still have it as well, I have 2 and 4 but 3 was the best of them all IMO

I think I have two versions and one of them is a 3 & 4 combo disc. I didn't play 4 for more than 20 minutes.

There is some crazy HD version out there now.

Yuris Revenge was the best one

Loved Monkey Island and all the LucasArts games on the IBM originally, Sensible Soccer was great but I used to play this really obsecure game called OneNil, first dip into a management sim then Tactical Manager (usually playing as Forest to start) and Champ Man 94+
One-Nil was brilliant, it had an actual game view mode and youth development, proper little mini-FM that was :) The text mode graphics also meant it looked a lot like the 3270 emulator i was supposed to do work with :D
i even bought the full version and the successor 2-0...
Wasn't that made by some guy in scotland?

Phantasy Star Online
Dino Crisis

Those are probably the two main ones I played a lot of in my teens and they haven't had any real new life from the developers for close to a couple of decades I think. Would like to see them revitalized!

This still the best football management game by a country mile.
