Thought he looked good tonight, looks way more confident and assured now after a shaky start. Looks more like the guy I saw at Benfica.
Tuanzebe had been impressive but clearly Lindelof is different profile that aims to improve our ability to initiate attack from the back. Tuanzebe can pass and can dribbling out of tight situation, but as far as I know, for him to fill that profile may take forever, even impossible. Sometimes it's about special talent and in this case, Lindelof has it. However, we definitely would like him to adapt quicker.
I don't think that Lindelof is special. He obiously is a talent, no doubt, but I don't think he's that special. My opinion is that Tuanzebe is a bigger talnt than Lindelof. I think that Chelsea is a pretty good example, they let go of players like Lukaku, De Bruyne, Salah and so on. Instead they bought mediocre talent like Schurrle. Who knows, maybe Lindelof is a special talent and Tuanzebe isn't. But from what I've seen, it seems like a pretty pointless signing. Remember that we have TFM aswell.
How's Michael Keane doing at Everton again? And I think he also cost a fair bit more than the buyback on Michael Keane. Does indeed seem a bit odd to gamble on Lindelof with more money when you can get a ready made, better defender for less cash.
I haven't really seen anything from Tuanzebe in his appearances for the first team that suggests that he'll become a top class defender in the future. It seems like he gets more highly rated the less he plays.

Sweden games, A team and U21 games. And what have you seen from Lindelof? When Lindelof was 20 he played in the portugese second division.

When Ibrahimović was 19-20, he played in the even worse Swedish second division. And then went to Ajax, where he flopped initially.
I agree. He's supposedly have had slow starts in all clubs he's been new in. I wouldn't be surprised if he mimics Carrick on the pitch as well and gets moved up the pitch in the future, as a kind of a modern defender/DMF/regista hybrid, when he gets settled in and good enough. His feet are way too good for being wasted on a static CB role, and José has always valued good defensive players with very good feet. He's also hinted at Lindelöf's potential in multiple roles in interviews. I'm pretty sure this lad has a career in this club, I'm just not sure in what position yet.
I'm not doubting that Tuanzebe can become a good defender in the future, it's just that his reputation on the caf seems to be based a lot on wishful thinking.
While Tuanzebe's performance vs Sanchez was top notch. It was as RB. Also it's just one situation we know (man marking). As CB and utilize different defensive tactic, many stuff may arises something we can see young Tuanzebe had error that he needs to iron out at Reserve level. We're not talking about ceiling here. His performance against Sanchez was more inpressive than anything Lindelöf has served up so far, for United at least
Based on yesterday's performance, who is a united player according to you?Certainly not a Man Utd player yet and not sure if he ever will be.

Not one of his best performances but he's a Man Utd player no doubt: Paul PogBased on yesterday's performance, who is a united player according to you?

Huh? Rojo is looking right at that runner and watches him go whilst Lindelof is facing up the man who plays the pass. Rojo can have decent performances but his poor permonces outweigh his good ones.Liability when he plays in a 4 at the back, looks good when we play 3/5 at the back. Terrible 1 on 1 with a forward and poor at tracking runs (see bristol winner). Great on the ball though, more of a CDM than a centre back tbh. Currently our 5th best centre back after Bailly, Rojo, Smalling and Jones.
All Keane has proven is that he can play in a Burnley team that defended deep. We should sign Tarkowski as well.

Not saying we should've signed Keane (wouldn't have signed him or Lindelof, would've promoted Tuanzebe), just that he's currently shown a higher level in the Prem than Lindelof, and was cheaper. Both facts.
How many times has Tuanzebe played at CB for the first team?
Must have been a stellar performance in order to convince so many caf posters that he's a better option than Lindelöf at CBOnce this season (Swansea). And I think that's it because last season he played at RB/DM few times he got a chance.
