Think he's starting to get a feel for the league, and his teammates. I like the way he sticks to his man like glue and prevent them from getting off a clean pass or shot.

Very good again. Hope he keeps it up and proves early doubters like myself wrong.

Man of the match today for me. Outstanding, could become a great partnering Bailly and Rojo (if he calms down) at the back.

Played very well tonight, those games with Sweden seemed to have really helped him. I know he had that slip against Newcastle, but unlike earlier in the season the mistake did not destroy his confidence. Was pleased that Deeney did not start for Watford, thought he would play up against Lindelof and look to bully him.

Smalling was our best center back today and has been for the last ten games or so, yet people want the others to be better.
Smalling has been good but it just comes across that Rojo is his favourite of existing defenders whilst Lindelof and Bailly are his signings.

Impressive performance. Spell in the first half when he was absolutely outstanding.

Credit where it’s due, he played really well tonight and kept Richarlison quiet.

Hope he keeps this up!

Very good performance. I'd be more than happy to eat my own words if he proves me wrong.

So happy to see him calm and confident. Needs to keep it going. I expected that he would come good, but he looks to be ahead of my expectations time wise.

If you listen to his interviews, you would see how determined and level headed he is. He'll be fine.

Very good game by Lindelof today. There is a good player in there after all it seems. Lets hope it's the beginning of the real Victor Lindelof.

Good performance and visibly can see confidence returning/growing with each game. His forward distribution is best of all our defenders but still lacking in heading department. If he improves that aspect of his game, he’d be ahead of smalling all day long.

Having slated Lindelof it would be unfair of me not to compliment him on a good game. He still needs more presence in the air but his positioning and judgement was MUCH better today than it has been all season. For just over an hour Richarlison wasn't a factor in the game and that was mostly down to Lindelof.

His third good performance in recent weeks, very good positionally and showed plenty of grit and composure.

Very good performance today.. Hopefully the drama queens can hold their breath till the next feck up..

Can clearly see why Jose rates him..

Really pleased to see him put in another good performance today

And this people, is what the average, clueless and drunken supporter sounds like. No clue at all what's going on.

dickhead reply. oh great non average, informed, and sober supporter with all the clues about what's going on. clown

lindelof got turned and twisted on at least two 1-v-1s, his reaction speed wasn't the greatest on at least a couple occasions too, and your ad hominems won't change that. If you read the thread (this one and the matchday) you'll see i wasn't the only one that noticed these instances, but go on put on a show for redcafe

i did say this was an improvement on what he's done here largely

Never been sold on him so far, but tonight showed why we paid the money.

He was pretty faultless apart from a dodgy touch/handball and getting skinned by richarlison, but he handled him way better than many other prem defenders have done.

I was most impressed by him actually being proactive today though, was getting to the ball first and cutting out crosses, looked much better on the ball also, he was actually passing forward the majority of the time.

Let’s good he’s settling down now and will keep this form going, I fear Sanchez/Giroud/Lacazette will be a tougher test for him though.

My man of the match hardly put a foot wrong, credit to him after a dodgy start he's starting to look the part fair play to him.

He did so well and I am really happy for him. Seems relaxed and enjoying himself more. Really like how is he was smiling at some 50-50 decisions going against him. Great to have so many fantastic options at the back offering different strengths for different set ups.

Thought he was fantastic last night. Very aggressive in the tackle, clean and composed on the ball and showed a great deal of confidence.

Think some pundit mentioned that he plays better in a 352. I'm not one for tactics, but I do remember the last time he played in the same system, think it was in the CL, he also got praise. I guess they're right since I thought he did a great job yesterday. Anyone know if he's fast, relatively speaking for a CB?

I think 352 suits him well as it gives him the opportunity to play a little higher up the pitch and also to the side. His weakness in the air is not so critical in this formation, especially not if the other two CB are dominant in the air, like Rojo.

A great way to use Lindelof is to always play him in a back-three. It is really a perfect position for him. Maybe that was a reason why Mourinho actually bought him. To have quick, and great passing defenders to the right and left is a key in a back-three.

Lindelof should always play to the right in a back-three. It is really his position. When you play a back-four however, i would probably pick all of your other defenders before him.

Actually Conte was very interested in buying Lindelof to play at the same position just when he was transforming Chelsea to a 3-5-2. He wanted Lindelof in the position Azpilicueta plays in right now.

Forgive me but where have these pundits seen him in a back 3 before? If I’m not mistaken at Benfica it was a back 4 and they conceded a stupidly low amount of goals last season. Sweden don’t play as a back 3 do they?
