Oh, what a pass to RVN, and what a goal! Knockers now please state your views

Come on, here is the opportunity, especially Stan:

Looked sharp and in control, but careless at times. Looks hungry in front of the goal, and took his goal well.

He needs to grab this opportunity with two hands, and prove to us what we all know, what a world class player he is.

I agree, all he has to do IMO is raise the pace of his game a little.

lets not get carried away, the opposition was cack. Lets see him do it in the league for a few games consistently before we cream our pants.

did u see when he was standing in midfield, facing his own goal. Big shout of "man on!!!" from the crowd. lost the ball.
nice pass, good goal. But nothing that scholes couldnt do.
very careless at times tonight too.

against better players we could have had a problem.

I've never seen Scholes make a pass of that quality, only Beckham and that was a long time ago!

I've seen Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, and Keane do that. What's your point?

Aren't you getting carried away a little? Let him perform consistently in the league, especially when we have to travel to the likes of Bolton, Southampton etc. where we'll have to scrap, or to the big teams, only then we should get excited. Performing well against a mediocre side like Haiffa isn't worth making a song and dance about.

If he rediscovers his best form, it could be a massive plus with the injuries in midfield we have.

'fraid he's got a point lads 'n lassies. Veron showed glimpses of what he is capable of tonight, but also showed us fine examples of the burdens that plague his game.

You have been waiting for six months for this post, isn't it? So what are you so pround about? Hope we don't need to wait another six months before he make another impact again!

When was the last time Veron score and assist a goal for us in a competitive match? It must be in the stone age. So if you understand how long has weastedevil been waiting for it, you would know why he is so excited about it today.

He has to do it week in week out and up his tempo
Then we will be happy
I have never doubted his ability it's just he has only shown it in glimpses.Consistency and more concentration required.

Veron has to tackle but at the same time leave the tackling to Keane cos he'll just give a way a free-kick, take his time and at the same time quicken the pace, pass but also give it to Beckham cos he's better at passing than Seba, be ambitous and dont be afraid to shoot, but dont shoot cos you'll miss. Do these things and he'll be sorted. ;)

Scholes pass from the half way line in the first 30 seconds of the Southampton (?) game last season. Ruud took it down with his foot and blasted it into the net

:D

Good point! ;)

The ABU logic seems to have taken over on some of you lot. You seem to be ready to put Seba down at every opportunity.

He's a United player, you should encourage any signs of improvement.

for 65% of the match he was sloppy. If youre happy with that fair enough, but it wont be good enough against better opposition.
Like i said, if he does it consistently in the PL then ill be impressed. Till then ill always wonder what else we could have got for 28 million!

I was impressed

I have now totally forgoton the months of failure

Incidentally, who was the pass intended for?

I agree with you Blythy, they're a miserable moaning lot!

Weastechap

Do you reckon that if you were playing infront of 60,000 chinese people and they all screamed "Man On" as you were feckin around with the ball, that you would get their drift as to what was going on?

Speshlly if you'd been made to look a cnut in the same position before?

Or would you say that you were unaware of basic footballing surroundings and languages were not your best subject at skool, therefore going back to your own country might improve your game?

What would that sound like? :)

Was a very good pass, fair play..

Must be about his third in over a year mind...against a terrible team

Isn't it a coincidence that the likes of Veron and Neville played well, and Forlan scored, all in the same match...

;)

And Weaste is pulling one off over 'That' Pass

Good job he doesn't pull one off over every misplaced Veron pass, he'd be fukin blind by now

speaking for myself only i like them big and bouncey yet pert and forward pointing. milky white orbs, lively and enthusiastic, a fantastic gift for loved ones or your parish counciller. :p

Granted he made a few good passes and took the
goal well, but God knows we should EXPECT him
to do this every game. Glad he scored but I still
don't rate him.

Great pass and a good goal. All very nice. Now let's see if he can do it week-in week-out.

Weaste, no one doubts Veron's ability on a good day. Still remains to be seen if he can turn it on on a regular basis, like we need him to do.

I must be watching different games. Veron had 2 good passes and a goal last night. Thats a fecking great return for a £28m player against a pub team. How many times did he lose the ball last night, how many mis-placed passes and "lunges"(one which he should have been booked for). He needs to improve every aspect of his game for us if he wants to grab his chance while Keane and Scholes are out because we are so much weaker with him in the team its unbelieveable. No-one knows what he;s going to do, he doesn't tackle back.

I miss Keano. Now all the Seba lovers can have a pop with examples please of his excellent play over the last 12 months

He's a gifted player, that's for sure! But he gives the ball away too easy and he sometimes tries to make those hard passes.. Anyway, go Juan, go!

Aww! Com'on any club that got to CL proper is not a pub team!

Veron did good today and he should deserved the credit IMO!

For £28M, I expect him to do what he did vs Haifa regulary in the league, not have 1 in 8 good games.
I don't see how that constitutes "ABU logic", if a player is not doing as well as he should be, then he should be called to task over it, not ignored, hoping one day he'll deliver the goods.
He's had a whole season and a bit to show what he's all about, yet any fan criticising him gets jumped on, whereras relatively newer players such as Forlan, who's had nowhere near the opportunity to shine as JSV has, are criticised at every turn.

Veron did what he was meant to do as a midfielder (minus the tackling) but he has not added anything to the team. This loyalty crap is doing my head in. Yes, its great that SAF stands by his players but you think back a few years and fergie used to be ruthless, bad game=dropped and only Cantona used to survive. That ruthlesness has gone from fergie and I think its permeating its way through the team eg Giggs = too good to be dropped, although everyone here has had a pop at his performances so far this season. Bottom line is if the player is not playing to his potential then drop him and I bet you when he gets his chance again he'll be on top form (like the way SAF does it to Becks now nearly every season)

I just expect more from my team. I had the fun of the 80's(apart from the FA cups) and have really enjoyed the 90's but freshen up the fecking team before it really goes stale. Its time to let people know its not their God given right to play for Utd and to win everything.

C'mon Fergie, get ruthless again
