Veron offered to Barca

The same posters that state a 30 year old is not worth the price tag would give up 30m for Keane despite his over 30 age. Rivaldo is a great player and would do good here (I think).

I truely want Veron to succeed here, but if SAF sees to it to sell him, then use the money to buy 2 defenders and another midfielder, then so be it. If Veron leaves and dominates next year in another league or stays and becomes a star, I'll be ok. Cause it's United for me and that's all that matters.

I had big doubts about Veron as well

Don't think age is much of a problem. The Brazilians are extremely fit, and they do play on for longer than Europeans generally.

If we were to sell Veron (which I hope we don't), I'd rather we spent some of that money on Dyer or Dunn instead of a fancy foreigner.

Sell Veron, buy Dyer, keep the change, move Beckham to CM along with Scholes and Keane if SAF is intent on using the 4-5-1

If (a big if IMO) Veron is swapped for Rivaldo I can't see us not wanting 10-15 million quid as well. Great player but much closer to his sell by date than Seba.

I heard this one on Monday. Guillem Balague is Sky Sports Spanish expert, and he was saying on the radio that our representatives were discussing this one with Barcelona even before Christmas. It's plausible - even if we probably wouldn't put up the wages necessary to make it happen. I seriously think Fergie would do the deal tomorrow if he could. Can't see it happening though.

That is the best bit of advice for Fergie I have read in a long time.
Spot on.

I thought you mentioned that Brown and O'Shea are the best young defenders around? Is there still a need to buy?

;)

Just saw at wldcup.com that Van Nistelrooy has visited Camp Nou and talked to their president. The 22 old Van Nistelrooy is rated at 45 million.

I heard the spanish pundit on spanish league review on sky talking about this, debateable, i reckon veron will probably be sold, but not in exchange for rivaldo.
