Rivaldo in exchange.
So says the Barca contact on KT. Thought you might be interested like...

They don't come much better than Rivaldo, but he's getting up there in years now and Veron is still comparatively young.
Seba is just fine where he is. Hopefully, next year he'll prove all his doubters wrong.
Infact he's already started.</strong><hr></blockquote>
This fella is pretty reliable by the way.
I dunno, it makes sense in that you need another forward

... And if we let Seba go we'll need another midfielder. So what would that solve? Rivaldo's a fantastic player, but at 30 years of age we'll only get a player on a free transfer.

Do you know anything about this Patrick bloke?
He claims to talk to players on a regular basis, sits near the King of Spain regularly at matches and seems to have this egoistical I know all these people and will emphasise I do attitude...
Thing is, he could be making it all up, so I'd be sceptical...

I know a few lads that have met him and he is straight up.
He hasnt got much wrong if he is making it up, has he?

Dunno, haven't really read many of his predictions...
But fair do's if people know him etc.
He's way off the mark with this one though...

Would you not welcome him as a fan? Not a good signing?

I wouldn't welcome the idea of spending tens of milllions on a 30 year old (whether it's straight money or exchange for Veron).

Fantastic player
But I have always had big doubts about South Americans in the English game - just not suited IMO.

And Veron is welsh???
I see your point. He's a class act though.
It'll be interesting to see if Man Utd are willing to part with a load of cash for an older player. If you got cash and rivaldo for Veron would that be a compromise. Its difficult, isnt it?

I had big doubts about Veron as well
Don't think age is much of a problem. The Brazilians are extremely fit, and they do play on for longer than Europeans generally.
If we were to sell Veron (which I hope we don't), I'd rather we spent some of that money on Dyer or Dunn instead of a fancy foreigner.

Are those fears allayed?
If you were to buy Dyer, he'd probably cost the same as Rivaldo. Mad that. You just don't get value for money with English players

Dyer would probably cost £25m
Overpriced, but still a safer bet than any Soutrh American

You're probably not far away.
I wonder if he'll sign another deal at the toon though. If I were him I'd look at walking, though I suppose they have a reasonable chance of CL footy next season.

All but the Boa game were sold out I think.
There wasnt the demand initailly that you might expect because the club upped ticket prices by about 5 quid. A bit rude really when you consider that to see Boavista was more expensive than to see good sides in the league such as Arsenal, Newcastle and Chelsea.

the guy who posted this story is genuinely connected at barca, and is a barca fan - he loves rivaldo, so why would he make up a story about his favourite player possibly leaving to be replaced by an over-priced white elephant..?
