Veron and Fab

"Without his industrious Veron's passes just won't find a target to pass."
Do you mean that nobody could've score that goal (which becks scored) from that position with only a goalkeeper to beat....Any striker could've scored from that postion. But Beckham stamped his class by making it appear beautiful...i agree Beckham's contribution should be appreciated.....
But Seba played snooker on the pitch. He is the real MOM.

No, I never said no one can score that kind of goal except Beckham. I also don't have any problem if people chose Veron as MOM. What I do have problems are:
1. Some people never want to appreciate Beckham's contribution and efforts. Being handsome & high profile is indeed a double-edged sword for him. On one hand, it can attract crazy little girls to worship him, but on the other hand, he does need to work harder and play better than other less profilic players in order to get the appreciation of hard core football fans.

2. Everyone has his/her own right to choose MOM, but it seems choosing Beckham as MOM is not permitted by some people here.

Everybody has their own opinion, but other than the lunatic reporters from The News of the World and The Sun making Beckham MOM, most observers seem to agree that Seba was MOM.

I know I do (I was a big Veron fan even when he played for Sampdoria). Beckham played very well thru out the game and scored a beauty. However, I thought Diego was strangely ignored even though HE scored the first goal!

Veron's passing was absoultely gorgeous to watch. Remember, it is all done with his right peg. He had complete mastery over pace, height, spin, etc. Did you notice the side spin he put on the thru ball to Beckham for the goal? The ball was at knee height and he sliced it with the outside of his foot to fade it into Beckham's path (Beckham did not break stride). That pass was awesome!

Sufficient evidence, methinks, for MOM to Seba!

One slight thing I'd disagree with on their is their goal scoring, Beckham is considerably the better goal scorer, as their career records show.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Becks scores more goals .Ok how?
He takes almost all the freekicks..gives a chance to giggs only if he is too bored..So he is bound to get more goals than Veron. But tell me how many chances Veron or say Zidane getsin a match. They would be given licence to move forward only if the ocassion demands. But if any kind of a goal come from zidane or Veron it would be absolutely fantastic...
But Beckham the Golden Boy here can do whatever he wants will be persists himself even if his freekicks are lousy...

Hey once again am not starting a slanging thread on Beckham. He is infact still the best freekick taker in the world.

My point is he should leave some corner kicks to Veron who is more wicked.

Beckhams efforts are always appreciated. He is superstar now cos his efforts are recognized from start. On yesterdays match i thought Beckham was superb
I dont agree that he has to work hard than other less profilic players in order to get the appreciation.Football is a team game no one can win any game single handedly. But there are tabloids here in east which provides headlines like Beckham beat Birmingham(even in manutd.com)... Beckham beats Argentina and so on only to find Beckham did absolutely nothing but converted a penalty. These are reasons why the hardcore fans are irritated

It's just a way for the media to make the headline more attractive or understanding, and I certainly don't know what's so irritating about that. If the media overrate a scouser, I will be irritated, but if the media praise one of our players, why should I be irritated?

I've just go to the official site and I also see the headline you quoted (Beckham beat Birmingham). I've clicked inside and found that it was saying Beckham being voted as MOM by the visitors of the official site. I've also read a newspaper quoting that SAF said Barthez win us this match. In my opinion, Barthez, Veron and Beckham all deserved appreication and they have all done enough to make themselves MOM contenders.

I certainly don't "appreciate" that. I just think I don't mind they say that. We all know United is not a one-man-team. Everyone who have watched last match will understand it's a team effort, no matter how the papers said.
