VAR Decisions - PL 19/20 Season

Are you in favour of VAR in the PL?

The outside of the shoulder is okay as well? That one is close enough to the chest to be okay in my mind.

Shoulder is fine, anything up to the shoulder isn't (afaiaa). Of course where exactly the shoulder becomes the arm...... *shrugs*

As I say, as long as I don't see a handball given for the same thing in a few weeks I don't care where they judge it from.

VAR was only meant to be to overturn clear and obvious error. If it takes nearly 3 minutes to make a decision then it is not clear nor obvious.

I don't know why they didn't give penalty to Everton for VVD foul and also penalty to Leicester when Vardy was fouled. Both were easy decisions too.

Where is the outrage regarding VAR not correcting the Rashford pen? Surely the people who complain about Mane every week will say it was a dive?

I'm not so sure they were penalties but certainly the ref should have had another look

Except PL doesn't want to do that, right? :wenger:

I mean, Sissoko stamped on Rashford's foot. Everton should have got a pen as well, and TAA should have been off.

Yes he touched his foot. However, Rashford continued running, but decided to go down when he realised the ball was going out of play. Surely the people who moan about Mane and Salah every week will agree here.

Alexander Arnold and Robertson could have both walked

I didnt think it was a pen and am surprised it was given.

The Liverpool game was borderline ridiculous. TAA should have been off early on and Everton had a penalty clear as day to make it 2-2. Mike Dean though.

Liverpool last goal was offside going by what we've seen this season, not that it mattered at that stage though.

Also should've had penalty, VVD got none of the ball and some of Calvert Lewin's ankle and obviously impacted on his shock so that should've been called against them.

Personally I thought the Rashford penalty was a dive. There is contact but he keeps running and then falls by himself to win the penalty - the contact itself does not actually make him fall otherwise there would not have been such a delay.

How much was missed in the Liverpool game? Just seen MOTD some of those decisions an absolute disgrace.

Stone wall penalty by Van Dijk. TAA should have been sent off twice and Robertson clearly shoved an elbow in the back of his opponents head.

What do the MOTD pundits say? ‘Well it’s a Merseyside derby’. I wish the BBC would cull Danny Murphy the bias cnut.

More or less of a disgrace than giving Rashford a pen?

Hey. Think they are doing free eye tests at Specsavers this Christmas. My gift to you. And a happy new year!
Thanks, I will check that out! Unfortunately there are no aids for removing hypocrisy, so I can't do you the same favor. Happy Holidays anyway though!

Everyone agreed Everton should have had a pen and big Virgil sent off.

TAA should have been off too. Two stamps and no second yellow? Could have had a straight red. VAR is a joke. You just don't know what you're going to get.

You do when it’s Liverpool.

Well it’s Liverpool’s year. Everything is just falling for them. Even shite like Origi scores when he plays.

There was an intentional handball also. surprised he survived after all this.

It's not just Liverpool though tbf although they are getting literally everything their way.

VAR is useless. Definitely a failure of a season. Vardy looks harshly treated too in their game.

The officials need to start being accountable for their decisions and explaining why.

Modern boots are thin and studs are hard. If you get stood on by someone running at pace it is bloody painful, something I and many on here would attest to.

Coming from you, I'll take that as a compliment.
Are you really trying to convince objective rational people that Mané and Salah aren't regular divers? And your point about Rashford going down in pains from getting his foot caught after trying to play on initially, I take it is some how proof that you can use to vindicate Mané and Salah's renowned reputations for being divers.

Your team is doing really well and you get all decisions in your favour this season on course to win the league and it isn't enough? You want the moral highground as well? Sheesh.

I'm saying they are diving as much as Rashford did today. Make of that what you will.

I'm not claiming moral highground, but pointing out some of the blatant hypocrisy in this thread.

First your eyesight, now your brain. We need to get this man help. Does anyone know a doctor?

PS you're literally the only person I've heard accuse Rashford of diving tonight. Even the Spurs and Liverpool pundits stated stonewall penalty. That's in total contrast to the VVD pen Everton should have had.

Var has been kind to us I must admit. There was nothing today though that really needed it. VVd and TAA had no reason to be sent off. It’s been fair this season I suppose.

At least you'll admit you're getting the rub of the green with it. Everton get the pen tonight and 2-2 makes it a different game.

1) There is another person in this very thread. There are United supporters in the post match thread calling it a soft pen. Pretty much everyone on neutral forums like reddit call it a dive/soft pen. Try moving outside your echo chamber every once in a while.
2) I have never said Rashford dived. I said that people who complain about Mane and Salah every week surely would think so. I don't complain about Salah and Mane every week.

You really are throwing around the compliments today. Thanks again!

Soft or otherwise it's a pen. Clear and obvious. He stands on his foot. Less happened to Mane against Leicester and you got one so figured you'd understand it by now?

You're just deflecting from your own good fortune. Tonight and throughout the season. Don't know why you're bothered though or why you care to come on here and argue black is white.

You want it to be one way. You want it to be one way.

But it's the other way.

Just seen on Sky Sport's ref watch. The only incident mentioned on the Liverpool game is the VVD penalty, and the ex-referee says it wasn't a penalty. It's a very clear penalty, he got none of the ball. How has a clear stamp on a player's knee whilst he's on the floor not got mentioned by anyone? Such bias reporting on Liverpool at the moment. I can't remember the last time I saw an article or social media with a negative twist.
