Seriously WTF does "look Presidential" mean? Some people saying "Romney looked Presidential".

Does looking like you don't know anything and having an odd grin for 90 mins make you Presidential?

I should take a video of myself smiling for 90 mins and run for President.

I'm glad Blitzer is stressing this is a scientific poll, I was worried it might be religious, or magical.

Fleischer claims Romney did a great job tying in the economy with foreign policy. All I heard was he kept agreeing with Obama. And then talking about plans on his website and creating jobs with no details how, yadda yadda.

Obama comes off as a military general, a college chancellor, a president, prestige and calmness under fire.

Romney comes off a car salesman.

That's how I see it. At least Bush had that "it" about him that made him seem reasonable and legit, like you could have a beer with him (well, not really but you know what I'm getting at) and he would have a general affection towards your plight.

Where as Romney would come across as just wanting the clock to tick so he can get to something more important. He's soulless, perhaps a product of Mormon cleansing, but just a greedy, ruthless Gordon Gecko clone. He truly believes he deserves to be POTUS, a high sense of self-entitlement.

Never underestimate a man that can out grin the Joker and get the word Tumult into a debate 37 times.

A friend of mine in the US Navy claims Romney made "no gimmicks or sales pitches."

Sigh.

Update: his mate stated this  where do they come from?

"Mitt Romney was genuine and strong. He was impressive. Pres. Obama looked uneducated."

Fox has a panel at midnight including Priebus and Rove... Fair and balanced.

That sounds like my idea of hell on earth. *shivers*

Where's that cube from Hellraiser... would love to see Pinhead and Cenobites arrive to cleanse the studio. Better yet, tear Priebus' sole apart only to find out he has no soul, just an empty shell of a man.

Is it surprising though? People like broad platitudes as opposed to any type of factual statements. Romney went on and on and said nothing. The first 30 minutes of the debate was Obama talking (think Hedley Lamar in Blazing Saddles) and Romney basically said "Ditto!" (think Taggart).

It's a cynical view, but most of American voters, in either party, are uneducated and unqualified to vote in any reasonable manner. The worst part is many thing they are well-informed because they read websites/watch tv shows that give them the sense that they are. If 15% of voters could reasonably explain why they are voting for or against a candidate, I would be extremely surprised.

True. I don't comment on their tripe, and rarely comment on pro-Obama stuff as well. I will post my own comments here and there which often draw right-wing rants, strange enough. I mean how dare I try to present facts.

:boring:

Obama wins the debate that means the least...like anyone really gives a feck.

-Yes, we'll both continue to use drones in Pakistan, killing guilty and innocent alike.
-Yes, let's pretend like we're going to be tough on China
-Give me a sec, I'm just gonna change my US pin for an Israeli one right now
-Yes, we'll continue to punish the average Iranian like we did with Iraq and the crippling sanctions for years and years. Tough luck if this means they suffer, they deserve it for not standing up to dictators...because as we all know, dictators always give in when their citizens start to suffer.

I love America, deep down I do believe it is a force for good but the foreign policy continues to be disgusting, cowardly and hypocritical to the point of laughter

US foreign policy is there to benefit US interest and Americans, endof.

It isn't actually. As the world's most powerful state, US foreign policy affects the entire global system. People from other countries are correct in having a stake in who the American President is.

And that's fine...the US is not some huge charity(though it does a fair bit of that too )

I simply don't see the point of having a foreign policy debate...it is honestly a waste of time. I don't know anyone who changed their mind because of foreign policy. Guys changing their mind because of the abortion debate sure...but foreign policy, nope.

Just for the record, I already voted - absentee ballot via mail(Virginia) - definitely a case of choosing the lesser of two evils.

Representation without taxation..could it be the true American dream?

CNN fact checked the Obama statement earlier that the Libya intervention cost as much as two weeks in the Iraq war. They graded it "mathematically false" because it was about two and a half weeks instead.

CNN is a bigger bunch of idiots than Fox. Fox doesn't make any bones about who they are. CNN are just massive buffoons who figure that halfway between centrist and batshit equals neutral.

I reckon if he'd said "the Earth is spherical" they'd have said "true but misleading - if you stand close to the surface likes humans, it is to all intents and purposes flat".

Blitzer corrected this later when he stated Obama was actually right.

Things are slightly more global these days mjs.

Anyway, does Romney even have a foreign policy besides calling Obama weak and not doing enough to protect USA? It sounds like he is accusing Obama of not killing enough people during his time in office.

Romney's foreign policy advisors are all the same neocon twits that were running the asylum during the Bush years. Romney's smart enough to realize that coming off as Bush II isn't going to play well with the independent voters he needs to win over, so he settles for a bit of tough talk sprinkled with overtones of the "Democrats are weak" mantra that the GOP has trumpeted since the 70s, and pairs it with precisely zero actual policy differences, because actual policies are like his tax records, they'd just leave him open to criticism, so why give the other side the opening?

That's such a stupid joke, and has almost zero actual impact or effect given it can be applied to basically anything. I'd delete it, and yourself Anver.

Did not go into this thread after I posted, until now. It was a bloody joke.

This thread is about the US Presidential election. And this joke has relevance to it. Dont know why it miffed you.
