I think he has the potential to be even better than Tiger Woods, he's ahead of where Woods was at his age and that's two record winning margins as well in majors now, stunning golfer!
Eight shots again. Wow, just wow. I feel lucky to come from the same sort of place as that lad. Total golf genius and the potential to be the greatest.
He has the pot entail but I don't think he is as driven as Tiger was. Tiger was manufactured and driven from day one to win majors. It is also a younger mans game than a couple of decades ago. It will be hard for any golfer to win 12-15 majors in the future.
Thats very true but McIlroy is more of an Els than a Woods swing wise so hopefully over the next 10 years we wont see him go down that route swing wise. That should help make it a more reachable target. Still v unlikely in the modern game.
To equal the record winning margin in a major on that course in those conditions is a huge statement though.
He has everything required to beat the biggest record of all. Will it happen? Who knows, so much can happen to a player between now and history, but he's the only one since Woods who has it in the locker.
