Update to user permissions

I won a trophy! Yippppeeeee!

I'll get my suit to the dry cleaners ASAP, where is the presentation going to be held?

I'm so excited! :D

What are the trophies some people have mentioned?

It's the 'Promotion' trophy. After the permission changes it seems to have awarded it to people who are already promoted.

You're not missing anything.

You mean we don't get a real trophy? :(

Thanks for the award.

Now get rid of my shit tagline.

Erm... I have a Newbies tab on my front page, but it has nothing in it... it's taunting me. Feels like there is something missing from my caf experience...

Interesting... I'll try again later.

This morning I updated all the user group permissions to be more inline with the proper XenForo way of doing it. This is to resolve a few minor issues left over from the migration from vBulletin.

The details aren't important but I want to make sure that I didn't make any mistakes - so if you suddenly can no longer access any forums / threads, or you can access things you previously couldn't, please let me know in here.

One issue I'm aware of is that the 'Newbie' tab is visible to everyone on the homepage, although clicking it doesn't show any threads. I'll sort this out soon so just ignore it if you don't have access to the Newbies.

Edit: If you are having problems viewing the threads on the homepage, log out and back in again.

Whenever I click on a banned member's profile page now it comes up as 'error: this user's profile is not available'. I think its been this way since the switchover, but I miss the old days where you could find their latest posts to get an idea of what they got canned for!

Hey Niall

Was wondering if you had fixed this or not? As not sure if I am the only one still seeing the football tab everytime.

A fix will be released within the hour.

I've tried to replicate this without success. Do you remember which specific user's profile you were looking at?

Users can opt to make their profile private so if it the banned user had that turned on, you won't be able to see it.

Sorry Niall, only just noticed this. There's been a few profiles. Kinky was one, and more recently Blasphemy.

The threads on homepage isn't visible. just me?

This. Just started today. Works fine until you click on the Forums tab. From then on, the Home tab links directly to Forum view and not the current threads view.

I suppose it is just a case of logging in and out continually. Bit of a pain.

Eh? I don't follow.

Can you describe exactly what happens step-by-step, or better yet provide a screenshot or video of the behaviour?

Just checked this and yes profiles of banned members are blocked to staff and that's not gonna change. Soz!

@Niall, I really don't want to start a thread for this as its such a minor thing. How does one change "Full Member" to something they want? Is it something to do with user permissions? Searched for this and couldn't find it.
Modmins.

Start a thread stating you'd like a tag line and the various tasks you'd be willing to to earn said tagline, then allow users to vote, add a poll.
