Sanctity, like a cat, abhors filth.
There's an old thread knocking about somewhere for Full Time Devils but I wanted to broaden it out to discuss fan channels for United on YouTube more generally. There are a few I am aware of and dip into from time to time but I wondered if anyone knew of any other good ones?

The ones I'm familiar with are:

Full Time Devils:
I know a lot of people dont really like these guys but I quite like them. Obviously some more than others. Im not actually that interested in fan cams though, and they are very big on those. For me, if I want to know what fans think I come on here. Im more interested in listening to good commentary from people who talk sense - Paul from Rantcaast who they have on regularly, for example.

The United Stand:
These guys are quite prolific, which is the only reason I do check them out, because if Im bored there are invariably videos up I wont have seen. I have mixed feelings about Mark Goldbridge. He seems like a nice enough guy and he is sincere and committed to his channel so fair play to him for that. But I find him a bit of a whinger and overly negative about our players, he spends more time banging on about how terrible Fellaini is than anything else and I find it wearisome at times.

United People's TV:
I like Sam, the presenter, and in a way I respect that they dont get drawn as far into the transfer muppetry as some of the other channels but it does mean there is a bit of a dearth of content at times and some of the other people he has helping him out on there come across as a bit inexperienced. Some of the match reviews, for example, if done by others, are a bit rambling. Presumably they are giving breaks to people looking to get into journalism so fair play to them for that.

The Football Terrace:
This is nominally a more general football channel but Terry who does it is a United fan and there is a huge skew towards United content. This guy is a pure transfer muppet, pure and simple, but I have to say I like him. This window he has been my main source for transfer gossip because I dont read tabloids myself, this is where I find out who we are being linked with. He seems pretty level headed about the quality of our squad and our prospects of getting various players. He hasnt been very successful at predicting what is or isnt going to happen in this window, but then nobody has, really.

So anyway, what do people think of different United fan channels and are there any others people would recommend for when youre bored and want to watch people talking about United?

The united stand is a bit insane. They are worse than arsenal fan tv at times.

Pilib de brun s show is actually decent though I don't watch it after transfer window

Only ever watched full time devils, utter cringe, a grown man doing a live chat in what looks like his bedroom about transfers.

Had a look at full time devils a few times - awful. Have never heard of the others.

United have a few decent podcasts though, i enjoy Mitten's

Watched Full Time Devils for a short time, stopped after I realised how annoying Stephen Howson is, occasionally speaks sense but my god does he moan. Finds it difficult to see others point of view which is irritating to watch.

As a side note, he was the one charging match-going fans/tourists £20 for taking them to the pub pre-game and visiting the Football Museum in Manchester (which is free admission). Dick.

The United Stand guy is crazy. Always comes up with something sensible then something really weird. For example, he was saying that he thinks Lindleof will be fine after yesterday and it's only pre-season, yet went on about how concerning it is Lukaku and Pogba didn't take a penalty. Really weird point. Who gives a feck who takes the penalties maybe we were just giving others the experience?

Fulltimedevils isn't great. Full of people who pretend to be really close to the club and most of the time they're doing a broadcast from their bedroom. I'm sure they are closer than the average fan and do videos inside Old Trafford or whatever but I don't enjoy what I have seen of them.

There's that 'MrFlyingPigHD' guy as well whose rants were funny about 3 years ago under Moyes and he now just comes across as a tool.

I think The United Stand is a horrendous to be honest. Goldbridge and the people who follow that channel seem to in the 'spoilt brat' faction of United fans. The United Stand twitter page tweeted about a month back that if we don't get one of Mbappe, Aubameyang or Sanchez then there are 'no excuses'. Utterly pathetic. Oh and he was definitely a Notts Forrest fan, the knob.

I'm a big fan of FullTimeDevils. Admittedly, Howson is loud, abrasive, rude at times and unnecessarily argumentative but he does speak a lot of sense. Genuinely think he's quite knowledgable. Statman Dave brings the facts, Paul from Rantcast is really articulate, McKola brings humour, Homewood is great at keeping things loving while also keeping it casual. Just a really good mix.

Was he advertising the service as something else or did he actually advertise it as "going to the pub and the museum"? If its the latter, yes £20 is a rip-off but if people agree to that then that's their prerogative. Moreover, I don't see what would be wrong with charging people for your time, if you think you're worth £20 and people agree to pay it then I don't see much wrong with it.

But like I said I only heard about this through other people online and I might not understand the whole situation.

Completely agree with that, I like the balance of personalities on there. Didnt know what @Camy89 was saying about the museum though, that sounds pretty shit.

And yeah agree with what people are saying about Goldbridge, as I said I admire his dedication to what he is doing but he does talk a lot of bollocks.

Not strictly United related but 'PI ALFA' is a cool channel. He goes to a lot of away games and his videos are good for getting an idea for the match day culture.

That's really poor from Howson.

I watch his podcasts on a Thursday and he regularly asks for donations so he can bring subscribers better content by buying better equipment and getting interviews with ex-United players etc. He's gotten some money in by the looks of it but he hasn't really changed a single thing about the podcast and he's starting to skip weeks. I might be harsh here though, he mightn't have made enough to really make much of a difference.

Don't forget big Andy "Give it ter Giggseh!" Tate!

I quite like FTD.

It seems to be the only United fan channel that is actually professionally run, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure I read it's produced by the company that does QI, or something like that. Think ArsenalFanTV is also similarly produced by an actual TV production co.

I'm really grateful that FTD isn't anything like ArsenalFanTV, where they rely on the same old boring characters and emrassing rants to gain a tension. They embarrass their fan base, I'd despise them if I was an Arsenal fan.

Also, has anyone seen on twitter that Howson is trying to bait DT into a cage fight

I like Full Time Devils, some of the stuff they have obviously shows some sort of club connection ( seats at the end of season awards, player interviews and so on), but they also have parts that are just blokes ranting about the club they love. Not sure why anyone here would complain about the latter one either, its what we all do on this site every day.

Dave the stat guy really knows his stuff too. Tate makes me laugh every time he's on, when I still lived in Manchester I worked with someone just like him, legend.

Here is the MEN article on it: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...s/manchester-united-fan-charging-old-10284652

Sounds like he definitely was advertising the pub part. By the looks of it he carefully chose his clientele (i.e. unsuspecting Asian fans)

Doesn't surprise me massively tbh. Just think there's an underlying sneakiness about him. I don't like it. Has he got interviews with players at all? I know he managed to ask one question to Pogba when he signed, he was sitting with Lukaku and he said 'We hope to see you here next Romelu', apparently there was a weird reaction where they looked at each other and laughed.

Needless to say when we signed Lukaku, he basically had a circle-jerk with himself shouting out how he called it from the start. Likely still dining out on that one.

I just can't get into the whole youtube vlogging stuff at all. Why the hell would I want to sit and listen to the opinions of one particular person crapping on and on about something I know a lot about already? That would be the equivalent of logging on to redcafe and putting all but one caftard on ignore, then asking to be banned so I can never interact with them. What's the point in that?

Tbh Statman Dave is the only one worth listening to imo. Guy's a genuine fan, ain't deluded and such.

Regarding them other channels, I find only those Match Preview videos to be interesting.

Isn't he charging £20 to act as a tour guide? Loads of tour guides charge punters to do walking tours of cities. The money isn't supposed to pay for access to the streets they're walking on, it's to have someone knowledgeable to take you to some interesting places.

Looks like a shit way to spend an afternoon, mind you. Bless them.

Yeah, pretty much. This guy posts on the Caf a bit too.

The only thing that I keep up with is the Rant Cast podcast as i find Paul and Ed ironically less ranty than the others and more balanced with thought through opinions. Most of the You tube stuff just feels too sensationalist to gain clicks, I can not stand anything where it interviews the fans (whichever team) as I find it really cringe. I like Stat Mans Dave's content, very insightful.

Oh yeah I can see what's wrong with the way he posted it, it looks like he's charging £20 for the pub and £20 for going to the museum. I have no problem with someone charging money for their time but he should make it clear what he is offering.

Never heard of The United Stand or The Football Terrace

have seen bits of the other two - not my kind of thing but I can understand why it is growing in popularity

There used to be Stretty News TV as well - but not sure if they are still going

We have discussed on United Hour doing something on YouTube but never got round to it, last season was a struggle even to do the standard podcast regularly due to real life getting in the way.

I like the United Stand. Mark gets crazy with the transfer news sometimes but he seems like he just wants more content on his channel.

Full Time Devils is way too scripted and filtered for me. Fans get 5 seconds a piece on a 2 minute Skype segment to speak their mind.

Obviously if you ever did that I would unsubscribe to everything else. The others were just a bit of fun, they mean nothing to me.

I quite like Full Time Devils - especially that they have pressers in HD too.

Haven't watched any of the others though.

Full Time Devils became bit corporate but there's tons of variety in content thanks to biggest production value of the lot.

United Stand is biggest independent and allows themselves and callers present even the most outlandish opinions which creates random effects altogether.

Football Terrace is forever underrated and United Peoples TV is the most steady and civil outlet.

Every channel offers something unique and this is where the strength lies but ongoing little war between Terrace, Howson vs Goldbridge cripple entire purpose into internet cancer at times.

Mark from the United Stand doesn't half waffle on at times. He goes "live" over anything. My mind was blown when I learned that it wasn't even his real name

Is it not? That's funny. And @GDaly95, did you say Goldbridge was a Nots Forest fan? Is that serious? Where did you get that info from? Surely people would be calling in taking the piss constantly if that was true.

Mark Goldbridge is the sort of fan that makes other fans hate our fanbase.

Proper glory hunting knob. Can't be doing with him.

I like FTD. I like Howson.

I do see people take the piss constantly. He was accused of being a Forrest game and I'm not entirely sure where it came from. But he wrote a few paragraphs defending himself where he said through his childhood he always went to Forrest games with his old man but eventually stopped and that he always preferred United. I think the time he stopped going to their games was around the same time they had their fall from grace at the end of the 80's. Coincidence?

Think he's just a glory hunter who probably covers United because it's easier to get a United channel off the ground than any other fan channel.

Also, I constantly see people say to him "reckon you'll actually go to a game soon?" So I think he either doesn't go often or maybe never does.

I believe it's something like Brent Di Cesare. Anyone who mentions this or the fact that he's a Forest fan get blocked

He did go to the Chelsea game last season at home - then went on about it for about 8 episodes after. I like Goldbridge tho, he is a bit whingy and i dont always agree with what he says but he is a lot more tolerable than Mckola and Howson, who come across in a very 'top red' and chavvy manor. I literally cannot listen to McKola, how he has got a job where the predominant task is talking is beyond me. Just so boring and sometimes very insulting towards people in the live comments where there is no way in a million years he would speak that way to someones face.

I used to know one of the guys from Full Time Devils, he's not a friend but we were friendly enough back then. He's a die hard fan but he was stupidly deluded. Any one of youngsters was apparently the best in the world for their age i.e. Rossi

@GDaly95 your point about the range of characters on FTD, one you didn't mention is Ian (?), the comedian guy who always seems stoned and like he can't remember exactly what he's supposed to be talking about or who plays for us. He's quite funny tho probably wisely they use him sparingly.

Aditya Reds is a pretty good channel, mainly for compilation videos but it's not a 'fan channel'.

Some of their videos are really really good.
Great shout. That one he did on Mourinho when he joined was pretty bad ass.

FullTimeDevils are ok

I just wish Makola would stop like-whoring so aggressively in his live channel bits. Very off-putting.
