Safestyle UK. BOGOF.
Maybe. I always thought it was a case of GM being a massive, bureaucratic company, and that going through the normal channels would take too long and result in them losing out.Surely because the other execs would flat out say no? It was huge at the time.
Chevrolet overpaid, and that was when we were not a laughing stockI don't know why everyone is flapping. We'll likely get a similar deal from another company.
Not a bad shout, Wish had Neymar, Bale, Buffon etc. in their recent ads so it seems like a valid route for those kinds of companies to go down.Alibaba or some other non-western company that seeks to get influence on the European market.

The funny thing is Chevrolet actually pulled out of selling cars in the UK (and perhaps Europe) very shortly after. It was a complete waste of time/money for them in terms of breaking into the European market.Chevrolet were never going to renew. They didn't want the sponsorship in the first place. The bloke who set the whole deal up got fired because he didn't seek approval from the upper management before agreeing to the deal. He also didn't even agree that Chevrolet would be title shirt sponsors. It was seemingly only an agreement between the parties, most probably on the basis of United not wanting to severe the deal and lose out in the long run, that they would become title sponsors.

Really painful to remember how many times we did this joke to the scousers all over the years. Good old time...What about history Channel?
Ineos please
Yeah, we signed the deal in 2012 then in 2013 they announced they were withdrawing the brand from Europe (except Camaro and Corvette). In 2016 Chevrolet Europe as a company closed. The funny thing is Chevrolet actually pulled out of selling cars in the UK (and perhaps Europe) very shortly after. That’s also why it won’t be renewed. They don’t sell cars in England anymore. Not that they are “unhappy”.
Yep. You can see why the upper bosses probably weren’t best pleasedYeah, we signed the deal in 2012 then in 2013 they announced they were withdrawing the brand from Europe (except Camaro and Corvette). In 2016 Chevrolet Europe as a company closed.
The deal is about to expire and Chevrolet have lost a chunk of the market they were wanting to sell to, so it was obvious that it wasn't going to be renewed.
