United set to snap up highly rated Arsenal physio Jordan Reece

The quality of the medical staff at this club is impossible to judge - along with scouts and all the other functions. The culture at this club allows the manager to overrule pretty much all of them, and they all take a backseat.

The biggest example of that was when Ole played Rashford in that FA cup game with a back injury, that put him out for another 2 months. You could have the best medical staff in the world but if they're not empowered by the club to make decisions based on their expertise, it's pointless.

You could say the same with Ole and Martial.
I really think that if Ole didn't played Martial like he did - we could still see that explosiveness and technical ability Martial had when he was younger

Didn’t know we already nicked Gary O’ Driscoll. He’s extremely highly rated. Shocker of a debut season for him!
Gary is head of overall sports medicine services. Reese will be head physio working for him. If anything, this sounds like INEOS investigation cleared O'Neal and they are trusting him to poach his former colleague from Arsenal

Considering when O'Neal joined (second half last season) I guess this season is when we will know what he can do to help us

Probably 'cos they got a new head doctor!
The Arsenal team who had minimal injury numbers all season in comparison to us.....
To be fair, if we sign (#cough Mount) and keep (#cough Shaw) injury-prone players, woodoo magic won't be able to help us, let alone anything of this earth.

Yes, good medical department is crucial, but some of our problems are clearly rooted deep into recruitement and cannot be plastered over by any medical department

Just saying so we have full picture

I really don't believe this is on the physio team.

Our intense playing style up and down the field and constantly chasing after lost possession is a much more likely culprit. It also hit the scousers like a ton of bricks in Klopp's first season, when he decided to go gung-ho on the gegenpressing.

When the medical and physio teams are changing but the injury problems still remain, it might be worth looking at the constants that remain as the issue, i.e. the coaching team and training regimen. Thought this was the issue last season, even more convinced with each week that passes.

This Sky Sports propaganda bullshit is impressively capable of sticking around

As if there are not whole bunch of other teams in which players put more effort than our players do, without as many injuries.

Next we start blaming our kit man. Maybe we should hire "best in class" kit guy? Is the current guy urinating in player boots, making them slippery-sticky and causing injuries?

Luke fecking Shaw gets injured just watching a football game in his pajamas, and apparently Mount is pretty bad as well. How is that coachinh staff's or playing style's fault? We have a lot of players made out of glass, and not enough depth for proper rotation

There may be other problems, as well, but jumping into playing style criticism before anything else is a nisguided oversimplification
