United Scouts Doing WHAT work?

It was very interesting reading, talking about the style of play, body types of players and all kinds of things.

From reading that and my own thoughts i would suggest that its possible for any player from sth America to be a hit in the EPL, catch is they have to either be of the English build and style of play, its always possible to adapt but its hard, im not too sure that someone like Rivaldo would be any more of a hit here than Veron.

Sth American players have a far greater chance of suceeding in the continental leagues because the style of play is very similar. That said I think in time Veron can be become a great player at OT when is completely adapts to the style, Forlan is the same, it would help if he played in the right position though!

sounds like you could the scouting for the club with your research.. it's actually a very interesting look into the situation.

any idea how i can have a read at this research you're talking about?

are you serious? I never thought of this this way before really.

i mean, sure the league game play and style is different, but inferior?

It isn't considered INFERIOR anymore but they are still not too interested nor do they follow it. Today I had a long football day:
Werder Bremen vs. Dortmund (German league available here)
Real-Valladolid
Valencia-Ath. Bilbao
Barca-Alaves (La Liga available in several channels)
RKC(sp?)-Ajax

We even get the fecking Dutch league but the channel with the EPL on it went broke!

I have to just pray for a long run in the CL to be able to watch United, now they aren't even showing the goals (ours, they focus on Arse and Pool as "the two title contenders" ).

BTW, where can I see Forlan's goal? :D

you must be a pretty frustrating United fan not being able to watch them.

we get atleast 5 live coverage of EPL games weekly. on a week where some teams play at noon, we get 6 live EPL matches on TV during one weekend!

we also get La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and French Premier Division, but not the Dutch league.. only maybe highlights here and there..

You bet I'm frustrated! When I moved here I made a point of picking the shittiest cable company because it was the only one having the channel that showed the EPL. Only a few months after that the channel went bust (mind you, I think it was the cricket!, whoever had the brilliant idea of showing cricket test matches in Brazil has to be pretty thick  ). It will be just the CL for me until I get out of here.

But then, if it weren't for that I wouldn't have crashed into the caf. :)

nowadays i would complain if they don't show United live on TV whenever they play... since we have begun to play poorly they started to cut down the coverage.. we didn't get to see the Villa game live, and we also did not see the Olympiakos game live.. had to wait for tapes that follow 2-3 days afterwards...

The treble season was the season that they showed United EVERY SINGLE GAME throughout the season.. it was amazing.. 90% of the matches were shown live, the others were shown as tape but only 1 hour after the game - so it was great!

Same observation here. ESPN and Star Sports will always beam live matches of the top teams although with some new programs this season, at least we can still catch all the EPL match highlites and goals the day after. Forlan's goal was a peach of a looping header, I must say :)

haha yeah, before the ESPN moved in it was always a week later before i would get to see the highlights. Now EPL is on every single day! I think i may be watching too much football...

Lucky bastard! But then, why do I complain? I was in the UK back then

For some reason I don't like non-live tapes even if I don't know the result. It's like "feck it, why get all worked up if it already happened an hour ago". I need to feel that suffering/passion in real time, know that somewhere our players/fans are celebrating that same goal or holding their heads after that same miss or -lately in particular- just shouting that irrepresible "COME ON UNITED" which comes from inside your belly.

It's not the same one hour on. Is it just me?

True you can't complain about the likes of Solano and co., but are they super super stars in England? not really.. juninho made it in the boro team the first time because the team was crap and had no other big names in the team.. now let's play him in there again

Remember that Manutd and Arsenal at that time offered 12 m for his services

I think that EPL is the best league in the world but its not the same thought for the South American coaches

It is a shame but they prefare to see their stars playing in Italy or spain

I dont think that South Americans are crap. But I believe that with all the disadvantages stated before, I would prefar a Dutch rather than a sth American if that would mean big money
