Manchester United Consider Move for £12m Barcelona Star: Sir Alex Ferguson Interested in Teenage Sensation Bojan

Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in signing Barcelona starlet this summer as he looks to strengthen his attacking options. The Manchester United boss is apparently ready to make an offer for the £12m rated teenager and hopes that he can tempt the Catalan giants into selling a player who is something of a cult hero at the Nou Camp.

The 19 year old attacker has found first team opportunities limited over the past season and may feel that the time is right to make a move from the La Liga title holders now that Pepe Guardiola has signed up David Villa last week.

Manchester United are keen to bring in attacking alternatives to help share Wayne Rooney’s burden. Michael Owen’s constant injury woes and Dimitar Berbatov’s poor form have left Ferguson relying too much on his England international goal machine.

Bojan only managed 16 starts last season but managed to impressively net 12 goals in all competitions.

bs surely. they wouldnt sell him for 30m , let alone 12.

City will unveil him for £25m in a couple of days time, hoardes of muppets will flip their lids

Exactly what we need. Another striker in the age bracket of 18-23 to compete with the others but not ready enough to displace the main 3.

I really like him. But I don't really see this happening. It'd be a nice surprise though.

Boss, I sort of agree with you on the size thing, but it is also a bit close to the "He needs to bulk up" argument.

Never gonna happen, given that we've got Chicharito (22), Diouf (22), Macheda (18) and Welbeck (19), who Ferguson rates highly. That plus Rooney, Owen and Berbatov. I really think there is no chance in hell of us signing another striker, especially a young one.

They'll probably sell a forward and he may well see himself as too far down the pecking order to get games even if Henry leaves. He got 11 starts last year.

The 12m sounds like a bargain, but he's not up in the 30m territory, good as he is for 19 year old. So it depends if he wants to go, even then Barca might go for a loan deal or a sell with buyback clause, particularly if he wants to stay in Spain.

Yep which is why I feel odd saying it, but he's the kind of player who doesn't have much presence in a game unless the team is dominating and creating chance after chance, I just don't see him handling the physical side over here. Bojan is very very weak.

Unlike somebody like Aguero who is small but could go toe to toe with anybody.

Exactly. Though I entertain the idea having a player of his talent at United, i don't quite see it happening with the kind of players we have right now. It wouldn't be a right move at this stage of his development when play time is as important as guidance.

Cant see why United would be interested in him to be honest.

He's young but he hasn't looked like fulfilling his potential and becoming the player he was expected to become.

United need a proven goalscorer to share the burden with Roony and to provide the goals if he's injured.

If there's talk about getting Bojan, I'd rather see United go for Pedro. And there's no way of getting Messi.

Pedro's just been capped by Spain and he's a first team regular (not a guaranteed starter but he's played more than Zlatan say). I doubt he's feeling any urgent need to move and Barca won't be trying to sell.

He hasn't really kicked on and impose himself on the scene and I for one don't think his name would be on people's lips had he not been playing for Barcelona.

Personally I just don't rate him

Why would Pedro want to leave? He's played plenty of football, unlike Bojan.

Which is why, presumably, he's being linked to us and not Pedro.

Well with the acquisition of Villa, and if they manage to get Fabregas, I really don't know where Pedro is going to play, I remember reading something about Pedro thinking about leaving originally a year back or so but was convinced to stay.

I think Zlatan is one that ought to be looking over his shoulder with Villa in the mix now. In addition to having a natural advantage over the others (having come through the youth system and Barcelona are very romantic about this) Pedro has actually proved himself to be a very good player, with a keen eye for goal, technique, impressive work rate and a more direct attacking option than the other forwards.

It's both of them that looked to be fecked, I envision Iniesta moving to the left, with Villa upfront and Messi on the right. Pedro has done the business for Barca, but that's life, I just don't see him playing first team football if Barcelona get their man.

Bojan would be an utter waste of money. Fortunately this is never going to happen.
