Last kind of thread i made like this (for Pert) it went down like a lead zeppelin, but i'll try again. Also the circumstances here are very different.

I'm writing to see if a sensible mod can take into consideration why Lao was banned and hopefully realise that it was for an unjust reason and bring his ass back.

Lao got banned for making what seemed a bad taste comment about 9/11 when he was actually quoting a film (Team America). Lao is a good laugh, he's rubbed a few people up the wrong way but generally he hasn't done anything near bad enough to deserve a ban. He's pissed a few people off but nothing more extreme than alot of other posters.

And he knew exactly what he was doing in that thread. It was just co-incidence in a thread that had nothing to do with anything like that other than it being started by Alex, he brought that up as a tally of goals Rooney would score?

Im sure it wasnt the 9/11 comment alone he was banned for.

Racism, mocking the handicapped and generally being a provocative dick are just a few features of his persona, has he got excuses for those as well?
 
Agree with Brad, plus I believe Sults said at the time that was just the straw that broke the camels back, it wasn't that comment alone that led to the ban. Although in my eyes it was enough by itself anyway.

Ok, so I knew the subject of the thread and I searched the cafe. I found everything but that thread. Brad might have the link handy.
 
I read it as urban lao, thought he has had a split personality and re registered himself.

We can let him back granted if Fresno Bob and Merman baptize him for a week and then on I would take him along with Frankly and rehablitate him in the football forum.

Alex lost his cousin during the 9/11 bombings.

This cnut tried out his sick joke in the Rooney thread posting "Rooney would score 9/11 * million times" to make it worse last week. Its warrants an immediate infraction, good work from Sultan.
 
Not as if it was just confined to that one thread either

Making out he was banned for that one comment is distorting the truth according to what we've been told. But doesn't that incident alone show the measure of the man, and why he won't be missed

I don't blame Diver for starting this thread, he's obviously on friendly terms and sticking up for him as a result, like before with Pert. But this guy fully deserved the grief he got on here, and he can have no complaints why he was canned

Surprised he's begging to come back on, given how he liked to criticise us all for being internet nerds

Just curious, why all these dodgy gimps are looking upon you as the saviour. Once twas bazalini, he got banned and broke his arm, attacked by a Labrador. Elvis was hanging around with them, he lost his job, his sister was caught for shop lifting and finally his account got hacked. Then it was Weaste's turn he lost his mind and yet to recover.

Lao says it was a horrible coincidence and had no idea of Alexs background.
He quoted team america.

Can anyone find me any quotes that are out of line? Taking into account that Lao was quoting Team America and it was taken the wrong way.

I had a quick skim through his more recent posts and i couldn't find much out of line (it was a quick skim though). If someone could actually post quotes and not threads, that'd be helpful.

I know i'm probably onto another loss here but i just think it's a bit unfair that he was banned for seemingly no reason or the wrong reason.

He might not be the most popular poster but i don't think he did any more than other people have that warranted a banning anyway.
 
I like lao, seems a bit more blue than my liking, but he's just one of the colours in the rainbow

It's a bit of a witch hunt imo, it doesnt seem to matter if he meant it or not, just needed a reason to ban him like. Not everyone reads every thread on the forum and knows what everyones nationality is.

:lol: Haha apparently it's the curse of the Diver, so quite frankly to all whose posted in this thread you're being brave.

To be honest i was talking to Lao and i offered to make this thread as i think it's a bit unfair. The reason he was banned was the 9/11 comment which was a film quote. Obviously Sultan wasn't aware of this. I think it's unfair as (as far i know) he hasn't done anything more than certain posters have who remain unbanned. Mods are stubborn creatures so i can't see this being overturned even if it is the right thing (again i'm not 100% on the issue i'm still waiting to actually read quotes).

If he must be banned I'd just like him banned for being a knob instead of contentious racism.

There were several people who fitted in to the group of people Lao was making his comments about, and they all state they found it racist. Because, shock horror, it was

Anyway. It's not as if he got banned for that, albeit for my money that should have been enough. His knobbishness is littered through the forums, and he got banned rightfully for being a complete cnut in that final Rooney thread. Anyone who believes his bollocks excuse about not knowing wants their head testing

Immensely stupid, but not racist. A lot of Europeans think that immigrating to European countries should be harder, even most European governments act by that. His theses about criminal immigrants are idiotic and miss the right causal connection, but they are still not really racist.

For the record: I've got a migration background.

Ah soapbox Brad talking to 'boring' moses yet again. This one I don't care enough about to argue with you, just giving an opinion. He may be a slightly bigger twat than you but he's less in my face, I'd have him back instead of you in a heartbeat.
 
If it's one of his favorite movies then of course he might have dropped a random line from it in a thread without any reason at all.

He does have a naive opinion on immigrants, like he knows feck all what he talks about. He's probably met a few bad persons in his hometown and base his whole opinion on swedish immigrants on them.

It's not impossible is it? Why on earth would Lao make that coment if he knew?, he'd have no reason to. And to be honest i had no idea about Alex / His cousin before this thread. It was just an unfortunate coincidence.

It's a funny (yes bad taste) quote from Team America. I've heard it used before.

The fact that you two had some sort of argument doesn't really make me want to side with you as you obviously dislike him.

I've asked for quotes and so far i've had a really weak one which doesn't sound racist, more stupid.

Doubt Brad Cantona's wife has thing personal against him. He was warned many a time for being a serial tit and in the Rooney thread it went out of control.

It's not as if the mods are trigger happy with banning people on here. They have good reason. And they had good reason here, you're just choosing to believe Lao's bollocks over what actually happened
