Umpire Hair

"Man of principles"
"Stand up guy"

Money grabbing twat more like.
"just give me 500k and I will feck off"

I'm completely stunned by Hair's request.
This brings him more into question then his umpiring decisions.

There is nothing to respond to. It changes nothing, Hair calls it as he sees it and he is ne of the most experienced umpires of all time. If has made a mistake, which of course is possible, then the protest should come at the appropriate time and to the appropriate authorities. If he is then proven to be wrong, then they should take action.

I repeat, spitting the dummy is not the way to get the right result and Pakistan were rightly adjudged to have forfeited the game.

Calling him a racist as a reason for his decisions is typical of the mentality of people who look for an excuse to justify their behaviour when it is seen to be inappropriate.

Now if you can't understand that, then don't waste any effort in replying.
Thats a load of shit. He's a terrible umpire first of all, and extremely biased. IMO thats a form of racism, whether its acted upon subconsciously or otherwise.

Now first of all, he did the wrong thing. There wasnt any evidence of ball tampering, he jumped to conclusion. Secondly, every team tampers with the ball, its quite obvious. Afridi in a recent interview let it slip that the Aussis do it as do most teams. Hence why are Pakistan being singled out. Then why didnt he report it later to match referee or consult a few people, instead of labelling them as cheats and taking it so lighly. Did he actually expect the Pakistani pride not to be dealt a blow.

If you understand sport you would know that its about honor, pride, excellence and patriotism. If i was the captain of my country and me and my bunch of players were wrongly DECIDED to be cheats, there is no way i would get on with the game. I'd probably bash the umpires face in. The Pakistanis did the right thing. Hair has once again proven to be incompetent, and instead of the charges being on Inzi, they should be on Hair.

Also, honestly this is the smallest of the problems. Racism sadly is heavily prevailent in cricket. From Darrel Hairs accusation to Dean Jones comments. Its no very apparent but the overtones exist. But its existance in the official domain is the problem, which is nearly impossible to tackle.

And I'll ask for one last time, what about the decisions against Australia and South Africa????

Also racism?

He he he, I heard Atherton say before the game either 'he' or 'everyone' would love to see Inzi exonerated, of the charges levelled at him...

Yeah me too, Gower had to correct him, everyone does it, theres either gotta be a change in the law, or equal measures against every team. I mean look at the reverse that England was gettin last summer, they said it was because Freddy and Jones were banging the ball in hard, and that they were throwing the ball on the bounce back to the keeper, but even with that they must have helped things on... theres nothing wrong with that imo. If they want to stop that they should produce balls that can never detiorate

Hair regrets 'ill-advised' e-mail

Under-fire umpire Darrell Hair has apologised for sending an injudicious e-mail to cricket's governing body, the International Cricket Council.
Hair wrote to the ICC offering to resign in return for $500,000, after the ball-tampering row with Pakistan.

"I wish to apologise for an ill-advised but entirely confidential e-mail that gave people opportunity to question my motives," the 53-year-old said.

"I also thank people around the world for their support in huge numbers."

The Australian admitted he was surprised by the level of support he says he has received since the controversy in the final Test on Sunday 20 August led to Pakistan refusing to take to the field and forfeiting the match against England.

"I am both stunned and gratified by those messages from people I've never even met," he said.

Hair, now based in Lincoln in England, initially claimed the ICC considered his offer and had asked him to put it in writing.

But this has been dismissed by the governing body, with chief executive Malcolm Speed terming the correspondence "totally inappropriate".

His next umpiring appointment was to have been a second XI match between Derbyshire and Gloucestershire at Chesterfield on Wednesday but it has been decided he will not now stand.

"It is inappropriate for him to do the match with what is going on," said Chris Kelly, the umpires and match operations manager of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Hair is due to be among the officials for the Champions Trophy tournament beginning in India in October, but the ICC is thought to be reviewing his position.

This is getting embarassing now.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was going to be about hairstyles of Umpires:(

One things is for sure, he aint got my support, Pakistan are right to ask for him to be investigated, hes as much as falult in bringing the game into disreupute are Inzi, maybe even more.

Hair took the evidence he had and made a conclusion upon it, everything after than was all Inzi's fault. Hair acted accoding to the rules if a team does not take the field they forfeit simple as.

key word there. looks like Hair has totally fecked up with his 'evidance' otherwise there wouldnt be this case where he offers to resign for a sum of money. If he was correct why does he want to resign? You must admit there is something more going on then a simple case of ball tampering
