Gaming UFL - The game to finally dethrone Fifa and Pes?

Anyone remember This is Football? That was so fecking good. You can even dive in it.

The game where you can start as your school team where the goals were literally jumpers for goalposts

I'm sure the gameplay was horrific but I had a lot of fun in that game. I remember being impressed with how it collected data from who was the best passer in the league, crosses, tackles, interceptions. Quite advanced for its time

Imagine PES 5 or 6 got remastered, they programmed in youth intakes for the next 20 years, and fully integrated an online master league with drafting/salary cap for you and your mates.

No lootpacks, no skill spamming....not happening

I have a ps2 with hdmi adaptor, bought copies of Pes 1 - 2009 in those cexchange shops. The graphics look absolutely dreadul on a 48' tv.

Played 6 last week, the game itself still plays great, it was always a fun game, think I need to buy a 14inch fatback tv for the full experience.

Something I forgot about was all the individual arrows for movement & individual attack/defence levels. Post match stats screens for every player, pass maps, heat maps all that stuff. It was actually a pretty in depth game.

Will try this ufl to see what it's like.

You can dive in one of the recent PES.

Diving has been in PES since 6 or around 2007/2008 it was 3 buttons pressed together. It think it was (L1,R1,R2), You could hold L1 in the box for the player to do stepovers, then press the other 2 and if there was a defender pressuring close you'd get a penalty.

Yeah I think it was L1 L2 R1 R2 L3 R3  was a pain to get right.

It was but it had International Teams all over the world going from 1998 to the 1920's, I think there was over 15,000+ players in it because it wasn't just the known squads but players beyond that as well.

Oh yeah, I forgot that was the one you could go back in time in. I remember it going sepia-toned when you did. Cant remember if it was actually any good though.

You mentioned Libero Grande too. That game was way ahead of its time. It was just missing some features to make it replayable. Should have been a football RPG of sorts.

You could and maybe you still can practice dive on PES, anywhere inside your own box, diving around without punishment, but everywhere else you got booked.

I actually really like it. The clunkyness is kinda charming, makes it like an arcade I guess.
