UEFA Europa Conference League Final

It feels like the final of a 3rd rate competition…oh wait?!

Lesse if they roll it back. Looked a pretty clear foul in build up....

Olympiacos win it at the death. Thought it was a foul on the phase before but the Fiorentina defender, perhaps unwisely, got straight back up.

Holy sheet imagine having this goal called off for that offside

And It's good

Why are these semi automated offside checks recently starting to take so long?

I thought UEFA use semi-automated offside. Why did it take that long?

Fiorentina have only themselves to blame, again. They didn't play their usual style at all

I think it took this long because they were waking up the officials in the VAR room.

2 finals in a row and won none of them. So does that mean they come back into this competition next year?

It's finished...

Only 1 european finals out of 5 won from italian teams in the past couple of seasons..

Depressing.

Yes.. Roma and Lazio in Europa League, Fiorentina in Conference League next season
Fiorentina might even reach another final next season if they avoid Chelsea. Real Betis, Heidenheim and Lens the other teams from top5 leagues shouldn't be very good.

Two actually though. Roma and Atalanta if we go back 3 years

Pleased for Olympiakos (I always like a new team winning)… excellent in the semi.

Must be an amazing feeling watching your club win a European final just down the road from your town.
And they did it at their biggest rivals' AEK Athens stadium. Pleased for Olympiakos as well, for years European comps have been won by teams from Europe's best 5 leagues or so. Feel for Fiorentina though, to lose 2 times in 2 years and both times with few minutes to go, heartbreaking.

I think sometimes they delay the decisions on VAR checks just to add some dramatic tension.

That being said that was some eruption of noise when the goal was confirmed.

José Luis Mendilibar with back to back European trophies. Handy for celebrations to win the final in your own city.

I was surprised Sevilla sacked him so early in the season. Not a great start but they've largely stayed bottom half since he went after the sixth game.

Roma, West Ham and Olympiakos. Seems like a pattern here of big capital city clubs that have underachieved internationally. Maybe food for thought for PSG and the Berlin clubs?

I'd prefer to win a one off Final away from anything associated with home. Travelling abroad and returning with a trophy makes it more special than winning it down the road somewhere.

Yeah but theres a certain appeal to winning a trophy at Anfield or the Emptihad for example.
