UEFA Champions League Round of 16 - 4/3/25 - 12/3/25

It is a bit unfair to Pool after having dominated the league phase to play Paris (certainly a top 5 team in Europe currently) in the first KO…. And the french side certainly deserved to win this tie having been clearly and by some margin the better team over two legs.

Oooh Liverpool struggle when they're not in the premier league where the refs froth at the mouth to give them penalties.

It’s simultaneously the best and worst penalty I’ve ever seen.
It was brilliant. He waited for Alisson to shift his weight and then took his shot. I'm sure it was a bit closer to the middle than he'd have liked, but the timing of the shot was perfect.

This PSG team is so likeable. So many likeable players. Nunes, Vitinha, Khwara Doue, Barcola etc.

Yeah, I know majority hate PSG but I would actually like them to win the UCL. About time a team from a country not used to European trophies wins it

Feck them

What’s the deal of a shitload of United fans watching a European game of their arch rival on their free night? ;)

I was watching for the quality of the game, was a great champions league tie that played way better than the 1-1 after 210 minutes suggests.

Meh. I’m still not over the jammy feckers somehow getting to play spurs in a CL final. I’d say they’re still paying that off

Such is the luck of the draw. In 2013 we finished top of the group and had to face Madrid. Not everyone can get a buy to the semis like Liverpool did in 2019 (with fecking Spurs in the final, might I add).

They dominated the league phase because their fixtures were quite kind. They played the better teams like Real and Leverkusen at home. On the other hand, PSG had to play Bayern and Arsenal away.

We won our group in 2013 and then got Madrid in the RO16. There's always been a chance this happens.

They've had some easy runs to the final in previous years so this is just karma evening it.

I'm not convinced PSG will win it this season. I think Real/Atletico or Arsenal could do them over two legs.

Very good age for the squad though and certainly a lot of potential.

I don't really want PSG to win a raffle, but it would be very funny if they won it immediately after Mbappe fecked off to win CLs.

They had to beat Bayern in the RO16 or quarters that season. It was the 2021 CL where they didn't play a decent team till the final.

F*ing oil state clubs are never likeable. They weren't any special when playing in Munich in the group stage
In fairness it is refreshing to see PSG ditch their galactico approach and they are more palatable for the neutral.

It all comes down to the poor form PSG showed at the beginning of the league phase. If they had played at this level from the beginning they would have finished in the top 8 indeed and never faced Liverpool. I was honestly surprised by how bad Liverpool plays compared to the leader of the farmer's league.

In true PSG fashion, surely they should fall to Villa now?

Not with the Bayern brass but rather German media, at least that’s how it’s been reported in Belgium. More the appearance than anything maybe, that he’s capable of winning big games.
Funny because the german press hold their feet pretty well. I suspect some bias regarding his heritager or maybe also his dad there? may be wrong, iknow next to nothing about the belgium media landscape. But honestly, there has been next to no rumours about him being on trial around here, and it isn't as if media/FC Bayern wasn't a shark tank. Vincent seems to have a good sense what to give them to keep them off his back, without being blatant about it. no minor deed.
