Having said that, some bitter Arsenal fan was on Talksport about 15 mins ago claiming it was all a fix to help Manchester United get through and that he just knew we'd get Maccabi.

The guy on the radio then pointed out Bayern's very tough group and that Liverpool have Basle, but he still thought it was a UEFA anti Arsenal thing.

He still thinks that Arsenal will get through no problem though!?!?!?

The guy was an absolute cnut

Just shows what loosers the gooners are and Wenger wanted an "Elite" EUropean group and they seem worried off PSV and AUxerre.....

With a bit of luck we can get a decent goal difference in the first game with maccabi...

Wednesday 18 September Maccabi Haifa (H)

My local club (Maccabi Tel Aviv) plays them on the 14th, wonder if fergie will be sending a scout for that one

Well, I live here in Cyprus (about half an hour from the stadium actually), so I will definitely be going too! I should be going to the Olympiakos away game as well, just as I did last year, as Athens is close to Cyprus :D

The most favourable draw for me!

How are you going to get tickets for the game?

well this is the time for the boys to stand up and be counted! beat the hun, and the others wont be a problem! i would have still liked us to play a big club like juve or milan, that would have been very exciting. did you all see the story on martin (the flasher) edwards lmfao lazio should also guft wrap hernan crespo and post him to old trafford with a letter saying thanks for japp stam, hope this makes it ok. spurs my arse

I don't know yet, but I will first try the agent I got my Olympiakos away tickets from last year.

The stadium where the game will take place holds about 25000 (all seater). It is newly built and is a 4 star UEFA stadium, which is good. I reckon I could easily get a couple of tickets as it is supposed to be a neutral venue.

If you could land us a ticket I'd be very grateful mate. How come you don't allow PM's btw?

Bayer - I can't wait for that
Olympiakos - no problem
Maccabi - They're very good squad, but in basketball, sorry lads :D

Not the same Maccabi, the great basketball (and Football I wish) is from TEL AVIV, the team United are playing against is Maccabi HAIFA...

The year we won it we had a tougher group than Arsenal :D didn't see them complaining then

Got to say it, we've got a good draw. Chance to get revenge on the German bastards and 2 teams that we should beat well. Bayer are significantly weaker than last year, keep Neuville quite and we should win. Hopefully we can qualify after the first 4 games and give some of the big names a rest for the other 2. Having said that is there still a bonus for winning all the games? I think it worked out at about 1 million per game I know there was a couple of years ago.

The Arse have got it tough, PSV are a good side, Van Bommel against Viera in midfield will be a good battle. Dortmund will be tough as well. how the Arse can say they know nothing about their opposition shows how much of a joke their scouting must be. PSV - Dutch champions for the last 2/3 years. Dortmund German champions. Both haven't exactly been short of european apperances

Livershite have got problems, Valencia should beat them and no-one wants to go to Russia especially if thats to be played in November.

The barcodes will need a miracle to qualify Feyenoord are a very good side and every know about Juve. Kiev aren't the side they used to be but at home their pretty handy.

I wouldn't be suprised to see us as the only english qualifiers for the second phase.

C'MON UNITED bring on the krauts

I will go see this particular agent on Monday and find out when tickets are released. Once I know ticket info, I'll send you a PM. The match is on 29 Oct btw, therefore realistically it will be a while before tickets are available.

I did get a ticket easily last year under the same circumstances, when AC Milan played an Israeli side here in Nicosia in the Uefa cup QF's

Much appreciated mate. I don't expect the tickets to come out for a while either, what's the usual for CL games, if its 6 weeks for prem? It'll be harder this time getting tickets because of the british army lads based there. But if you do manage to get me one then I can book up a one or two week holiday there too.

I actually work in one of Britain's bases here, and to tell you the truth, there aren't as many United supporters here as you would think. The majority of supporters will be from the plenty of UK tourists coming to Cyprus at a time when the weather is lovely.

Btw, the locals won't pay 15-20 quid a ticket to see a game that is televised. So I don't think tickets will be so scarce like in England for example. I could be wrong though, time will tell

I think you guys are doing Toppmoller a disservice. It was his 'team' and 'system' that beat Liverpool and Manyoo. Not individuals. Ze Roberto always looked overrated to me, and though he did well against both of us I bet he's a flop at his new club. Ballack and Lucio will definitely be missed though. However, they have plenty of able replacements ready to take the step up (Basturk, Neuville, others(?)).

Toppmoller must take top marks (pun intended) for his part in making Leverkussen the team they are. And I think you have a surprise in store for you thus your manager/chairman are doing the right thing by not going for revenge, instead for a professional performance.

As for Liverpool, we were in TWO harder groups last season. And we're better equipped this season (squad, CL experience). Valencia will be tough, but not tougher than Barcelona had been for us for TWO seasons running before them. Yet we managed to win the Uefa Cup and get to the QF in our FIRST attempt at CL football.

There's a lot of football to be played yet...can't wait.

Really? Crembo thinks Israel will send over 15,000 themselves, but I find that very hard to believe. I hope you're right. Are you in the British Army then? What regiment? And do they all support the Gunners then? ;)

Kinell, flight to Larnaca is 827 Euros for me!

I am not part of the RAF or army, I am just a sales rep and do most of my work in the bases.

On the topic regarding fans, actually most of them are Liverpool fans with Cockney accents ;)
