U23s - Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sbragia is clueless. Not playing to his teams strengths (Gomes was invisible) and not utilizing the wings more against a compact Spurs defense. There was not clear plan. The ref is an idiot letting Spurs play like thugs all through the game. Terribly naive defending from the back 5 overall. Barely noticed Bohui.

Chong only bright thing to take away from this game. Give that lad some first team football, would benefit from a loan already at age 18.

Agreed. Riley hasn't too bad either but has faded a little in the second half as we have been shite.

Agreed - we shouldn't be struggling to break Spurs down this much on a large pitch and that much attacking talent. Worried about how Williams and Warren seem to have regressed this season. I know they've had injuries too but they look less assured than some of the younger/less experienced lads.

That was bad management from top to bottom no semblance of a game plan whatsoever, I wonder if we'll be looking at a new U23 coach this coming summer.

Should be better than bottom of the table out of that group of talent … games in hand or not!

Hope that Wednesday is not similar!
For nearly half our starting 11 that was among their first couple of games in the U23 league, they'll improve as time goes on. Very clearly some deadwood in there that may need shipping out though.

Most of these lads have already played together and yes of course the opposition is going to be tougher now, but my word, we had no bloody game plan. The major thing for me watching this game.

Sbragia has been a disaster, which of course is absolutely no shock.

Still enjoyed it more than previous games as at least we had some talented individuals in the team. Normally it’s a group of ‘going nowhere’s’.

Why would anyone think hiring him would be a good idea? Decisions like that honestly baffle me so much, it's just common sense.

Yeah, worth it even just to see Chong and O’Connor make the step up look so easy. The pair of them were a joy to watch. Gomes was a real disappointment though. Just didn’t happen for him.

Yeah those two were very impressive. Enjoyed it that O'Connor played at CB rather than out wide.

O'Connor is indeed an exciting prospect but him and Riley did feck up for their equalizer so not a faultless performance.

Strange line-up, but wasn't expecting that...

I'm guessing Gribbin, Dearnley, Kenyon, Whelan, Sang and CBJ are all injured.

With the players available would probably have gone with something more like this:

Pereira
Olosunde RS Williams O'Connor Riley
Kehinde Hamilton
Chong Barlow Gomes
Bohui

Might even have been tempted to try DJ at left-back to get him some game time, give balance, and have Joe Riley playing on the right

That was basically an U19s team apart from Riley, to prepare for the UEFA Youth League clash. What were some here talking about?
