U23s: Manchester United vs Leicester City

Been injured a lot to past two seasons. Maybe they are easing back to make sure it doesn't reoccur. People look to read far too much into things.

May be right but skeppyred may well have a point here. There's been other players that have had long lay offs and have come back to get regular game time whilst Mitchell is still getting 20 minutes at most. You'd think he'd be fine by now to play a full match, don't know for sure though obviously.

Seems odd that none of Blackett, Keane, Pereira or Wilson are featuring.

Are they all injured or is this a bit of a message for them to go and get games elsewhere?

not sure about that, yes he was injured for a long time but he is now fit for a long time and still only gets 5 minutes cameos if he even gets game time.

I would be fine with selling Jones and giving Tuanzebe his spot in the first team. He is so impressive and if it wasn't for his injury last season, he would have got some minutes last year.

If you're living outside of the UK, is there any legal (HD) way to get MUTV? I bought the app as I thought I could stream it from there.

Tuanzebe class above everyone on the pitch. So happy for Demi, boy is pure class and one of the standout talents of his generation(not only at United) but had a unreal luck with injuries.

There is definitely fitness concern.Sheffield United wanted to loan him but hold back due to his fitness.

Great goal. Hope he starts next time out. Some good performances. Axel as mentioned above, Kehinde deserves a mention too.

That's a fantastic finish by Mitchell.

Glad to hear Tuanzebe looked good.

What is the fitness concer ? That he can't last a full game or he hasn't had enough minutes?

Completely agree with you on Tuanzebe and Mitchell. Buzzing for Demi and I really hope he can kick on from here and Joyce gives him more opportunities because he's a really special talent.

So is this Mitchell guy a big a talent as Gomes and Gribbin?

Very different player. More comparable with Rashford.

About 3 years ago, Mitchell was held in high regard. Over the past 18 months, he's suffered a lot of injuries and lack of games.

Linked with PNE tonight according to my mate who supports them. They're offloading Garner to Rangers for £1m rising to £2m but won't let him leave until they've found a replacement.

So back from the game.......happy that we had a big highlight at the end of the game :) because puuuhhh that was poor game.

But no real striker in the team can only mean more boring games in the next months.

Tuanzebe
But U23 football makes no sense for him......the boy needs a loan if he isn't in the plans of Mourinho for the next months.
Where's Wilson ? and even Will Keane ?

Surely he should be out on loan by now ?

Keane and Blackett should be sold.
Loan for Wilson, A.Pereira, Harrop, Weir, maybe Borthwick-Jackson too and one of Johnstone or J.Pereira (Actually both should go but that is unlikely after Mourinho's comments).

He's 18. At that age, talented as he may be he has more to learn from our own coaches and staying in our own care than being sent off for 6months-a season especially to a Championship or League 1 team.

I thought the same a few weeks ago but if you saw him the whole match today/yesterday (In the ground....not on TV) then you can feel that he's ready for more.

Agree. This has been the 3rd match in a row where he looked like the best player on the pitch which is telling considering he's a CB.Forget age, the lad needs to be tested at a higher level.

Yeah of course it wasn't just the Leicester match.....he looks on a crazy exciting level already in that short time of the new season.
Hopefully the coaches are thinking the same and then we can find a good club for him.

If Tuanzebe goes on loan would be also good for another reason.......more game time for Williams (if fit), Poole and Warren.

If we'll be getting teams as strong as Leicester put out last night in this league, then it's gonna be a fantastic learning curve for the youngsters.

We should really consider signing a 18-19yr old striker though for this league. It's borderline negligence now.

I don't know. It's not so much an issue of watching him but I am not a fan of sending very young players away where they will be out of our protection. Unless the management see that he has learnt all there is and competitive game time is really what he needs or else I wouldn't rush him off for loans.

I also feel that Tuanzebe is better off here, the U23 is not a big step forward but we saw Leicester lining up pretty strong yday and I think the lads will need to cope with more intensity and quality this season which is only good for them.. Axel still need to bulk up a bit for the teams to trust him to take him on loan, he's not premier league quality just yet and the championship is as physical as it gets.

Starting 20 games in league one will not make him better palyer than if he stayed here and palyd 20 games for the U23 and watched/trained with Mourinho and the first team..

The striker situation is awkward but if it means that Mitchel is gonna get game time there than I don't mind much, It did really good to Rashford and he's similar player, hope he stays fit and show his potential...
