I'd say the problem is more in midfield, the two central midfielders for us are destroyers rather than possession players/creators. It's been difficult for us to build play up from them
Veseli and Ekangmene are struggling in the CM role with the passing.

Schlupp has some qualities but also some glaring holes in his game, you just don't see him as much of a genuine goal threat.
He needs to improve a LOT to make it as a striker at United. Basically his game so far has been about using his pace and strength to bully defenders.
He won't be able to do that so easy in the senior team. Then what ?

Well, its tough when you're missing so many players. M. Keane, Wootton, Petrucci, Brady, King, Macheda, Henriquez and Cofie would certainly brighten up our play if they were still here.
Sending those players out on loan, and selling Brady and King, has probably killed any chance we had of winning this competition.

Along time since i saw us play this badly, most players below par but what has happened to Cole? from good to poor not just this game but most games.

The last 2 U21's game was were better tbf, and the last 2 Under 18 games weren't the most entertaining either except if you want to see Poor defending.
Yeah, Cole has completely stagnated this season. Really dissapointing as he seemed a bright prospect when the youth cup winning side moved up.
