U21's vs Southampton

Some positives in that tonight. Keane is definitely regaining some spark, but a lack of creative players around him didn't help. Evans got a solid 90 minutes. Pearson and Rothwell both did ok, but weren't helped by a real homer of a ref.

Keano different class tonight. Shame none of them other yahoos were able to capitalize on his brilliant hold-up play.

Pearson was United's best player for me.

Some excellent tackles and he set the tempo in possession and also drove forward at times with couple good long passes too.

Then Pereira and Keane.

Pereira was better first half but faded more in 2nd. Keane was excellent in his hold up play but lacking fluidity in attack and clinicalness at times.

Nice win there for the U18's.

Rathbone, Rashford, Gribbin all looked good in the few moments there.

Dorrington playing against United.

Missed Harrop a bit and I'm not sure what Grimshaw was supposed to be doing in that position but it didn't work. Still, decent shifts from Pearson, Pereira and Keane.

Southampton did a nice impression of Solksjaer's 1999 Champions' League winning goal after they scored. Didn't know it meant that much.

A ring-rusty Grimshaw was always gonna struggle in an unfamiliar position. Still; the game-time will have done him good.

I'd add Rothwell to the list of decent shifts. As good as Pearson and Pereira. Vermijl wasn't half bad either.

Other than the give away for the goal Donald Love looked quite good too, especially for how little he plays and he is normally a full-back right?

Yeah, he's a right-back. As you say, he was decent but for one pass, sadly it ended up costing us the game. Poor guy looked gutted.
