U21s: United vs. West Ham

:(
Every time the camera pans to Moyes and he's chatting away I imagine he's ruing the lack of crosses.

He's seen a fast athletic guy on the right put a cross into the box. Must be licking his lips thinking we have another Valencia

What do you lot think of Keane and Varelas readiness. Would it really hurt anything by giving Keane and Varela a game here and there to see what they can do. Both look good at this level and we can't get any worse surely?
Other than his first match against Liverpool I think Varela has been great every time I've watched. Against one of the bottom table sides if Rafael is injured I'd love to see him get a game over Smalling.

Keane got good reviews from Leicester and Derby fans liked him too. He is just a level above here and I was surprised he didn't get a PL loan this year. I think a PL loan next year would be best for him.

We've missed the Spanish wave, are too off the pace to ride the German one, so let's build our team around the Belgians. We can be the Belgian Barca.

Take a bow, Andreas.

Rothwell's been brilliant as well. Such a complete package for his age.

It's really enjoyable seeing a United team where none of our players are dwelling on the ball.

Do you know if I can watch full matches of past u21 games if I subscribe to mutv online? Or is it just highlights? Where can I watch full games?

Lots of movement and energy, Joyce has got them playing very nicely this season.
Exactly. Everyone is moving around off the ball. Just a few yards mostly but enough to get a bit of space to receive a pass. They're keeping the ball moving nicely waiting for something to open up.

Would love to be able to watch rothwell and pearson and pereira but always stuck at work

A bit ineffective but really nice passing-game
Yeah we aren't really creating a lot currently but West Ham aren't near the ball. At some point a channel will open up to get someone through.

Pereira should have passed it out to his right there. A bit too selfish from him.

Paddy actually sounds annoyed at the way we're playing.

James should've used another touch before finishing there.

That's just the way he talks.
I was thinking more of when he said something along the lines of "United are just keeping possession now". As in we're not trying to do anything with it. That's how I interpreted it at least.

Who are they with him?
He was with two people, I think Steve Round might have been there but not 100% sure.

I like Janko. He's reminiscent of Valencia probably just because of his build.
Can we not keep all this sort of rubbish for the mains?
No need to get your knickers in a twist.

They're very easy one the eye. It's nice to see how comfortable they are on the ball. Their off-the-ball movement is very nice, too.

And he's quick, wants to take people on all the time and can play safe passes quite well. Doesn't seem to have the same workrate though obviously

So, glad that Varela put in another good performance at right back. Still have no idea whats going on with those reports that he hadnt done well since joining

I think they were wrong, his progress was only halted by the problem with his family really.

Agreed. Seemed like something someone had come up with given the fact he was the first signing under Moyes and hadnt played for the first team yet. I dont know how anyone who watched a couple of games with Varela at right back could suggest he had done poorly

Did you see that Scholes picked him as a potential first teamer in they future?

Yes, I saw your post in the Wilson thread, mate. If I was pressed to pick just two, I'd probably pick Rothwell and Wilson as well. But the likes of Pereira and Pearson aren't far off.

Yeah, seems like a clear-cut case of two and two makes five. He hasn't had a poor game for us yet.

Both goals were class. Keane's was a clever turn and shot from the edge of the box, Pereira's a great curler from one edge of the box to the other side's top corner.
