U21s: United vs. Sunderland

Bebe, Macheda, veseli and johnstone absolute trash. Week in week out. Strolling about arrogant.

Tunnicliffe cole and Thorpe aside the rest are poor.
 
Charni has been good tonight. Hes only 18 and improving all the time.
 
Great feet from Henriquez, but a poor pass out to Bebe.. followed by a great over the shoulder pass to Tunners to set up a chance.
 
Bebe is such a tease. Every time you write him off he shows just a glimpse that he could be a good player.

Too many flaws in his game need addressing for it to happen though.
 
Oh for feck sake I knew there wasn't something right my with Monday night ritual. Completely forgot about this.

Brief summary, anyone?
 
Poor performance again, even if slight improvement from past weeks.

Positives;

-Charni did well tonight in DM, mom for me. Promising signs with him.

-Lawrence was good at times.

Negatives;

-Veseili wasn't bad I thought. He defended well but most of his good link-up play was messed up by a lack of movement from Bebe, who is a very unintelligent footballer.

-Cole and Tunnicliffe did ok but still should be dominating more at this level, especially someone with the fantastic technical ability and quick thinking that Cole has.

-Defence was poor again. Especially the two CHs.

-Macheda is also someone who lacks brains on the pitch. Poor decisions sums him up every time I have seen him play this year. He must be great in training because he is consistently very underwhelming in matches.

Fair enough.

I'd add the few glimpses of a good all-round game that Henriquez showed to the list of positives.

Not sure myself. He looks pretty decent amidst this mess of out of form or just plain rubbish players, but I don't think he's anything particularly special, not the sort who shouts 'future star'. I wish Petrucci would stop getting injured.
 
Johnstone - having a bit of a dodgy time in last few weeks but his reactions when Macheda mis-kicked from corner were exceptional.

Veselli - thought he had improved recently but tonight very poor.

Thorpe - 3 very sloppy passes nearly cost us .

Fornasier - average

Vermijl - A player i quite like - never hides does pretty well both defensively and going forward - playing LB tonight and not his best game until he scored that very good goal

Ekangamene - should impose himeslf a bit more but I think he is improving and i like him as DM

Tunnicliffe - Easily our best player tonight

Cole - Not sure what has happened with him since his long injury lay-off has not progressed at all but he has quality so hopfully he gets on track again soon.

Lawrence - tough night for him - was not supposed to be starting. I think it will take a while to get up to speed after injury, we know he has talent.

Macheda - Occasionally shows good technique but most of the time, lazy, careless and brainless with a touch of unneccessary nastiness.

Bebe - what can you say about him -- sometimes it looks as if he is playing in his first ever game anywhere!. However at the same time he has some useful qualities - he is fast as they come, has a kick like a mule with very little back lift and his sheer unpredictability make him dangerous unfortunately its both attacking and defending. Unlike Macheda he does try and he is improving - i really would love him to make a living somewhere in football.
