U21s: Spurs v United

If Fergie came looking for a solution to his defensive injury troubles, he ain't going to find one here.

Great cross from Brady. Keane should've done better with that.

Lingard looks ok, good stuff. Some very dodgy defending today!

How did King keep that in? Think it's fair to say all the injuries over the years haven't damaged his pace.

1-1 half time.

Pretty even in terms of chances for both sides - could've easily been a couple more goals in the contest. Lingard our best player, though we've defended poorly and Johnstone's kicking has been very off too. Good game so far.

1-1 HT. United have been the best team, but very sloppy in defence aswell as sloppy when finishing their attacks. King, Brady and Lingard have been bright.

Lingard's at a level now where he's consistently one of our top 2 or 3 performers. Deserves to feature on Wednesday.

Larnell Cole has been awful today. Never seen him play worse than this

I'd be fascinated to see our U18s play our U21s, just as an experiment. They'd be out-powered and out-paced, no doubt, but I think their possession football would at least make it interesting.

Think the swerve did Johnstone there. 2-1 Spurs.

That is poor from Johnstone...I know it curls but still...

Do you guys think SAF being there puts an extra-pressure on these lads? This has been pretty awful by these guys standards.

Getting completely outplayed at the moment. Could've done with Petrucci and/or Powell in this half.

Some of these players aren't even trying right now....which will cost them a place in the match next week.

Brady maybe. He was stood on the edge of the box before instead of running for the cutback. Was lazy stuff.

3-1 now. Not a good performance this time round.

It's a shame that 2 two of three guys from last years team, who had a legitimate chance of making it with the first team, left and the other one has a long term injury. Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Cole and Lingard might have a semblance of a chance but I am afraid the rest are pretty ordinary.

Horrible again from Tunnicliffe - who can't be bothered to track his run.

Worst ever performance from any United-side this season

That is a bit harsh....Michael Keane has a more than decent chance. Not to mention King. Oh yes and Brady isn't exactly ordinary

Think Lingard is our best hope from those four above. There was a point whereby I thought Cole was the one to look out for, but Lingard has kicked on well in recent times. Can't see Petrucci making it in our central midfield and the same goes for Tunnicliffe unfortunately.

Still though, I didn't see Cleverley's rise coming so we'll have to see what happens.

Full time 4-2. Extremely poor second half performance after a decent first half.
