A win in 90 minutes and we’ve won the group. Avoid a defeat in 90 minutes and we’re through to the next round.

Wolves U21s play Altrincham on Tuesday and if they lose in 90 minutes we are already through before kickoff.

1) United U21s 3 +6 9
2) Oldham 3 +2 7

3) Rochdale 3 +4 6
4) Wolves U21s 2 +2 5

Sorry if I am slow here - but why would Wolves' game against Altrincham have any bearing on whether we qualify or not ?

If Wolves win both of their remaining matches in regular time they’ve got 11 points. One win in 90 minutes and one in penalties - 10 points. So they can go past us.

ah I thought it was the last game - thanks mate. Really should have learned to read tables at this stage of my career :)

Wolves did lose to Altrincham in 90 minutes. Does that mean that we're definitely through?

Looking at the table, if we lost in 90 minutes and Rochdale won in 90 minutes, then we'd both be on 9 points (with Oldham 10) and Rochdale probably a better goal difference than us. But if we're guaranteed to finish ahead of them does that mean it goes off head to head rather than goal difference?

We beat Rochdale 1-0 in an earlier round, so possibly, as appears to be the norm these days, we would be above them having beaten them, but I'm not certain.

Yeah as far as I’m aware it’s head-to-head if on level points.

Thanks.:+1:

I assumed it must be that if we were apparently now guaranteed to go through.

I generally prefer goal difference over the whole of the group games, rather than just head to head over one or two - but it suits us this time around and good to see the team progress. Hopefully they can finish it off tomorrow with a good performance.

I assume no Amass and Gore is probably because they're going out on loans?

That's good for them, though obviously a shame not to see them tonight as the team looks better with them in it rather than the likes of Murray.

Shame not to see Ibragimov, but looking forward to seeing more of Kone and Obi.

His really good loan spell and from what I saw before he went on loan

Five leagues below PL. We’ll see how well he does at a higher level. If he was that good surely Wales or South Africa would call him up to the senior side. He’s got potential but still a long way to go.

Should the Oldham keeper not be wearing something more distinctly different to our tops?

Maybe it's just the screen colouring I'm watching it on, but there's time when it goes across the box where he and our attacking players are difficult to distinguish.

Good open 45 minutes. Far from a dull 0-0.

Enjoyed watching Kone and Obi a lot. Especially Kone - very promising half showing some good technical ability and driving runs into space. And Obi looking a real handful even against senior professionals.
