Joyce: "I think Sunderland have played six more games than we have this season so it's bizarre really. Obviously, anybody would rather have the points on board than games in hand.

"It'll be nice to get a flow of regular games with a regular team as, when you look at the sides we've put out, they've been vastly different every match. We've not been getting people playing together like clockwork yet but obviously our last outing against Leicester City (a 6-1 win) was very pleasing."

It really is a joke the number of reserves games and their scheduling isn't it. When is somebody at the PL or FA going to take responsibility and do something about it?

Any chance for Pearson playing for the first team this season?

Been anonymous all night and he comes up with that, Townsend that is

One was bound to go in. Pereira scores from a direct corner kick

That Veljkovic (sp?) chap was a knob wasn't he? Glad Perreira pissed all over him towards the end :D

Devonte Redmond is MOTM for me. Consistently good in attack and defence for the whole 90mins

Good win.Might have chance to catch the freak Sunderland side at the top with this run of form.

And this is exactly why the u21 system is shite. How on earth can our young kids improve when they've played 6 u21 matches and we're in January.

Not the thread I know but we've enough posts on the matter but it winds me up when we have this for our youth and Germany and Spain let their top clubs have a 2nd team playing lower division football and we wonder why we don't have enough good young players coming through

Haha, Andreas class in the interview

"Goalkeeper didn't know what to do so I decided to dribble him"

"I said to Varela i'm gonna shoot from the corner"

Pearson class above everyone else on the pitch and it was his second 90 minutes in 3 days! He needs a better loan or a chance with the first team. im pretty sure he is ready.
On the other hand, its great to see Will playing for us again but its such a sad story, he was destined to be a United striker and now after fecking injuries he looks so average :(

Edit: And wtf is happening with Rothwell, he cant get a game for U21!? Dont understand why he isnt used....

Really? Never even noticed him apart from one foul he got away with.

Weir MotM for me albeit Perreira by far the most skilful player on the pitch outside Townsend.
